An infant's skin goes through many changes. At birth, and for about the first week of life, her skin was probably very smooth and velvety and may even have felt a little greasy. After the first week, several skin conditions are common. Erythema toxicum is probably what your daughter is having. It is a benign skin eruption not related to any allergic reaction and will resolve on its own. Another common infant skin condition is infant acne. It can begin about 3 weeks old and last as long as 8 months. It is normal and doesn't need any treatment. It is generally believed to be caused by maternal hormones transferred just before birth. There is no need for any kind of medicine or skin protection as most infant skin conditions are normal and get better on their own.

Are you breastfeeding? IF you are baby could be having an allergic reaction to something you're eating. My son had the same problem whenever I would drink milk. I'm drinking soy milk now and no problem. It could also be excema although I wouldn't think that would be showing already. I'd take her to the dr adn talk to them.

I was told that jaundice is a real concern for infants. And you can tell if they have it by pressing on the skin and seeing if it turns yellow. Check the whites of their eyes too. Just a thought

Could be normal but she needs checked as it could be allergy related.
My own daughter's face became blotchy (red blotches) after eating spaghetti or anything with tomato in it. I continued to let her have them but made sure she didn't exhibit any other symptom. Labored breathing, lethargy, etc.

Since she is only 3 wks I suspect she is receiving nothing but milk at this time. It could even be eczema or heat rash...

This used to ensue to my toddler while she could devour apple, she could get crimson blothes round her temples. they could disappear somewhat quickly after. i presumed it became an allergic reaction, so while my well-being concentrated visitor next visited I informed her approximately it and she or he asked me to grant her some, so I did and the blothes appeared. She reported she wasnt allergic it became only her bodies reaction to new meals. To be truthful my well-being concentrated visitor became rubbish besides! So I took my toddler to the docs as lots of the jars of so-reported as fruit are majority apple, yet she additionally reported an analogous element. My toddler is now 10 months and if I provide her apple she is nice. So perhaps the docs have been precise. yet i could definately verify with you HV. each and every now and then if my toddler cries only until now her bottle she gets blothes interior an analogous place!?
