Why are LIBERALS so SCARED about America's WAR on TERROR?

My GOD LIBS...Just Freaking RELAX!!!

No one in this country or this administration is going to force you to serve in Iran, Iraq and Afganistan against your will. Mostly young conservative men and women are doing that for you. So here is a "suggestion" shut thefvckup and let the troops do their job so they can come home. Pour a glass of white wine, light up some weed and pop your copy of Broke Back Mountain into your DVD player and RELAX. No one is going to draft you from your Mommys basement.

PS: When the troops do return home...please refrain from spitting on them like you did to their fathers when they returned home from Nam.

They just oppose it right now due to it being "Bush's war"...should Hillary become president (or Obama) they will support the wars they get us into (which both...especially Obama has already promised).

It will be interesting in that, if the Dems win the Presidency, and the House and the Senate, they will very likely reinstate the draft too....

It should be something to see when wars increase and Dem's get drafted how their reaction will be when it is their party that actually does all this to them LOL.

Because most Left Wingers are in La-La Land (like many Europeans) about threats to national security and our way of life. They just don't get it when it comes to the iron-fisted, no compromising beliefs of radical Islam. Radical Islam believes that anyone, including "moderate" Muslims are infidels and as such, are to be annihilated. It is that simple. Here in Thailand, where I live and work, we have a huge problem with radical Islamists in the southern provinces bordering Malaysia. Thailand has put in place a moderate Muslim as their new PM, thinking that this would enable finding common ground with the radicals. The radicals' response??? They have stepped up their brutal attacks and murders against Buddhist monks, school teachers, businesses, etc. Further, I have read a comprehensive 600 page non-fiction book on the history of Al Qaida and the CIA from the time of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan until Sept 10, 2001. Al Qaida is determined to impose a radical Islamist world on the rest of us. OBL has had this goal going waaay back, way before 9/11. And our government, from Clinton onwards, was asleep at the wheel. These are the facts, and most Left-wingers just can't fathom a world with such dangers present; they just can't deal with it. They live in a fantasy-land.

*Sigh* first of all, no one is spitting on any troops. Lets just clear that up from the start.

Secondly, how can the troops do their job when top military officials have been saying since it began that the civilian leadership isnt letting them do their jobs? Youll hear more and more about this in the upcoming months. You trust the current administration to fight a war? I dont. They've proven themselves incapable of stopping 60 year old Mexican women from sneaking into America. What are they going to do against a well organized terror cell? Please.

Third, how can we relax when we are spending billions and billions of dollars we cannot afford? Where is the money going to come from? I dont know, but I bet you've ranted about libs raising taxes either here or in real life havent you?
The country is going broke and youre calling libs traitors. Please.

Fourth, what exactly are you railing against here? What got you all up in a wad in the first place? Sounds like you should take your own advice.

We liberals are a cowardly lot, I guess.

We fear incompetence.

We fear being lied to.

We fear having a tragic event getting used to create an even more tragic event. (2,974 people killed on September 11, 2001 compared to 3706 U.S. Military casualties, and growing.)

We fear asking thousands of people to waste significant chunks of their lives in a military campaign that has little if anything to do with the terrorist attacks of September 11. We fear having numerous men and women sacrifice their health for this stupid military action.

We fear getting stuck (or more precisely BEING stuck) in a quagmire, and we fear having that quagmire being used to get us into more trouble.

But here's the thing- when we Liberals are scared, we don't just sit and shake in the corner, or even watch "Broke Back Mountain."

We vote, and get people kicked out of office.

Now, when Conservatives are scared, they follow bad political advice, ignore the erosion of their party, and then get surprised when Karl Rove finally starts screwing up. then they get voted out of office.

(And spend the next two years exclaiming that people are disappointed in the Democrats, while ignoring the fact that the people are disappointed that the Democrats aren't winning even more fights against the Republicans.)

There are a lot of people claiming that if the US loses in Iraq, the Liberals win.

Technically this is correct. Liberals opposed the invasion of Iraq from the start, believing that it would be a difficult war, and possibly a quagmire we couldn't get out of.

I don't know of any liberal who is eager to win this argument, however. What we'd really like is for the deaths to stop.

Right now, it is estimated that 69,907 to76,365 Iraqis have been killed as a result of this war. 3706 American soldiers have been killed, 297 soldiers from other "Coalition" countries have been killed. 27,186 American Soldiers have been injured, and 128 soldiers have taken their own lives.

I think a lot of Liberals would gladly lose this argument if it meant that those numbers would just stay put and not get any bigger.

It seems to me that the conservatives who still support this war are the ones who should be ashamed.

I dont know anyone who is scared of it. Being against something doesnt mean we're afraid (are you afraid of abortion?).

We just realize that when the gov't declares a "War on ..." one anything other than a country, it is merely an admission that they dont know what to do about it. The War on Poverty, War on Drugs, and War on Terrorism all show this. They are about emotion and propaganda, not about results.

BTW, the military has never been shown to be mostly conservative.

You say let them do their job so they can come home--so do we. Let them do the job they were told they were doing though, not the one they were diverted to. That means back to Afganistan, into the unpoliced area of Pakistan and out of Iraq. That means actually going against terrorist leaders, not terrorist that we created by invading Iraq like the CIA warned would happen.

It is all about who will get "power" come "08".

God forbid we get more good news, more of what we've been getting especially as of late, for that would diminish even more the liberals stance on any national security measure.

Basically it works like this.

When success comes full circle in Iraq, Libs lose.

If success doesn't happen in Iraq, Libs win.

That is about as plain and simple as I can put it.

Not one Lib could refute that.

They are afraid of victory. The last real political success they had was snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Vietnam. If the US wins the war they will not be allowed that win.

Also if America wins they fear it might strengthen the Republicans. They would rather the country suffer defeat then give the republicans any credit.

If we attack Iran, you don't think we'll have a draft? Where are we going to get troops to fight a nation of 65 million? We barely have enough troops as it is? No one is spitting on any troops - and no one says they are going to !

If our tax dollars (almost 500 billion) are spent in Iraq then we get to have an opinion ! That's how America works !

I applaud you sir,See what happens when you tell americans the truth?they can not stand it.But when their worthless hindends need protecting they will be all for the military,Yes I am one from the viet-nam era,I really wanted to kill americans when we came home and were treated like dirt,because like now "Mommy don't want their baby to go to war'' Well my Baby has been in war four times,been in military since he got out of highschool,21 years ago and I'm damn proud of him.Maybe my son would not have gone over there so many times if some other sons would be men and do what men do.I know we lose some but would you rather go there or them come here?Remember New York as a example,it can happen if we let our guard down.By the way my son says the news media does not tell the good we are doing there just the bad.So please like the man said ,it's a different world don't try to spit on my son.
