I am replacing and relocating my tub faucet. I will be extending the copper lines slightly and connecting them up to a Delta sink faucet which I am using as a tub filler. How should I terminate the copper so that I can connect to the Delta faucet? Should I use the connection lines that I would use with a sink faucet also?

I haven't ever worked on a tub faucet, but I have done several sinks so this may not be completely correct. But I would assume it would be best to terminate the copper lines with a 3/8 or 1/2 fitting so that a flexible connector could be used to attach the faucet. You can buy them in different lengths and it makes changing fixtures out much easier.

If you are going to use a sink faucet just put a stop on the copper pipe a stop is the chrome valve under your sink use a compression stop and a long supply tube no need to extend the copper at all some supply tubes are as long as 36 inches. This option also gives you a way to work on the tub without turning off all your water

A sink faucet won't put out the flow of water that a tub filler will. This will mean you might have to leave the water running for a LONG time to get the tub to fill. If you don't have good enough insulation arround the tub you might find that the water cools to quick for the slow faucet to keep up. I like your idea, but it might not be doable.
