I have a pc with aol broadband and bought a laptop so i got a netgear wireless router from aol but i can't get it to work. do i need to contact aol and ask them to fix my ip address for my laptop?? sorry if i am a bit vaug

You must first configure your router. Install the Configuration CD and configure your wireless network ( and make sure it's secure)

You may have to clone your PCs MAC address into the router to use Wireless with some ISPs. I'm not sure about AOL though

There should be a step by step guide that came with your router.

you should be able to just plug your router into your broadband modem then plug the PC in to the router. most routers work out of the box without any configuration. Then connect the laptop wirelessly, if it asks for a WEP key, look on the bottom of the router for a default key.

You don't need to tell AOL anything, the router will get assigned the public IP through the modem bridge that AOL use to assigned to your PC through the modem bridge, then the router will assign you a private IP address noone on the outside will see

You Might Want To Use Internet Explorer Instaed.

For Your ISP Address Go To Command Prompt In Acessories And Type: ipconfig
Go To The Website!!!!!!!!!!

if you dont have a wireless card in your laptop that might be the source check to see if your router is configured to your isp (internet service provider) however you may have to contact your isp for more information
