Or worse. I don't know how to put this in a more optimistic way, so I’ll just be honest. As I get older I just get more and more responsibility, and less pure, untainted pleasure. When I was kid I thought life sucked, but it was fu cking good fun. Kids are a hell of a lot friendlier than adults, less needy and fake as well. And when I look around adults don’t appear to be having a blast, unless their trying to be young or trying to be happy, but can you try and be happy, I mean aren’t you just happy or not. And money, have you noticed that that is all anyone wants. Lots of money.
Have your adult days out weighed your childhood days, or vice versa?

I'm 53, 54 next month. I would not be young again for anything, I like where I am. Would hate to go back to all that fear and insecurity; all those hang-ups. Yes, I have sh@tloads of responsibility...but hey, I brought that on myself, no-one asked me to have kids or buy a house....I chose it all. I have plenty of good laughs, I work with a great bunch. I like my job; I have a long term partner who loves me....we have very little money, but that's ok; it's not all about money.
You can't force yourself to be happy; but what you CAN do is have a positive outlook on life.

You can't generalise about groups of people in that way, though... I know plenty of misery guts...but I know loads of great fun people too. ...like-minded people tend to hang out together!

I think life does get better as you get older. You become more sure of yourself, you have a better idea of what you want out of life and if you try, you can be successful pretty much at anything. You've learned how to handle people and problems. Those who worry about anything have no faith in the Lord, and if money is their main priority then their priorities are wrong. Money can buy things, but not happiness. If someone doesn't like their life, they can change it. I've done it two major times.

We never know what cards are going to be dealt to us.
We have to always try to find the positive course to take and keep thinking this is just a temporary hitch when things go wrong.
I have had great times and bad times in both childhood and adult life.

As you get older you start to understand things better and you learn about life, things that a child can't understand and should'nt need to understand.Do you understand? OK some of the old men I worked for then would say I was.

As I get older I find it More pleasurable. I appreciate More of the beauty of life itself, stripped down of obvious lures. Just life, plain and simple, breathing and sleeping and awaking to do it again. My middle aged years so far out shine my childhood, which was happy and enjoyable. But this is better!

As you get older, your perception of reality changes.

You know that life sucks and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it!

On the scale of the newly bred and the nearly dead they have one thing in common, they don't give a damn as long as the have warmth, liquid, food and shelter.

When those in the middle realise that, they would enjoy there meagre existence and not constantly seek more to compare their unhappiness to.

each stage in our life comes with a set of developmental tasks (e.g. trying out our skills and independence in childhood, finding one's identity in adolescence, or finding one's life partner in adulthood). the manner in which each one of us accomplishes or fails to accomplish each task may determine whether we like what is going on or not. the essential rule is doing one's best in whatever stage we are, accepting what cannot be changed, and continuing to learn from each experience. thus, as one gets older, one is supposed to become more mature and to make more personally satisfying choices. no use to keep bashing oneself or hating others for negative experiences - they're time and energy consuming and totally worthless in terms of self-growth.

money is there to be used to enjoy things, but not always. as bo sanchez says - you can always travel, have fun, rest, love - at first class. it all depends on how you see it.

my own childhood days have their own ups and downs. the same thing can be said for my adulthood days. let's just say that being a mature adult gives me more power (in terms of increased self understanding, improved social skills, better career, etc.) to make choices that are in keeping with my personal values, goals and true desires.

try cultivating your personal interests, or reaching out to the needy - and watch your perspective change. you might even discover new pleasures in life that might somehow change your current perspective.

I don't know. It all depends on your life so far. Some can let go and get on with it, some keep hold and allow the past to influence the future. JUST LIKE ME!!!

childhood are the best days of your life

they're so carefree and happy

when you become an adult theres so much responsibility and stress in life

and the way kids are so blunt and have no shame when they tell the downright truth about someone makes me laugh!!
