Correct, "the median would fall."

So if despite adding 12 million at the bottom the median increases....... That means the rest of the array is moving up.

I am glad that most of you figured out this was about the effect of illegal immigration on the income stats - we've already been over their effect on the poverty stats - - when you add 12 million poor people and the total number of poor people increases by 4 million, people are moving UP, just being replaced at the bottom more than 1 for 1.

There are not more poor Americans.

There are fewer poor Americans.

But there are more poor Mexicans living in America.

Do what you want about it - or do nothing - I just want the Left to stop using their number to support macroeconomic arguments they know to be false.

outcrop I love Mexicans, Mexico and Mexican culture too - I love Latino culture - they, like me, love olive-skinned, large-breasted women, soccer, baseball, red meat and beer.

All I'm saying is hey Libs, don't take the fact that we've imported so many poor people from other countries and relate poverty figures without noting the effect of this migration - - if you import 12 million poor people and the number of poor people increases by 4 million, that means people are ESCAPING poverty, NOT falling into it.

The population of the US, is, in fact, much greater than Mexico in the first place.

Mexicans are great people, and my god, I love tequila!

The government would have to make a lot more cheese.

well.. it's been a long time since I've done any statistics.. but a 3% increase in the array wouldn't be significant I don't believe.

obviously you lower the median.

but that's also a gross oversimplification to assume that things will be ceteris paribus.
