To touch on a few things. There is no such thing as BLACK or WHITE magick. It's the person's intent that makes it good or bad. Magick is neutral until it's utilized.

As for witches not believing in heaven and hell, it's an individual thing. Unlike most religions, witches (per se) respect most people's beliefs as long as what they believe is NOT being attacked. I don't know of a witch that I completely agree with on religion or completely disagree with. But I don't attack them on what they believe nor do they attack my beliefs. I do the same with Christians even though most tend to be judgmental.

As far as I'm concerned there's no one here that has the right to say who is right and who is wrong.

The reason witches don't believe in Heaven or Hell is because it is a Christian belief, and obviously it is not their own; for some witches there is a Summerland.

"The Summerland is the name given by Wiccans (and some Pagans) and other earth-based religions for their afterlife. The belief is that after one experiences life to its fullest and comes to know and understand every aspect and emotion of life (usually after many reincarnations), their deity will let them into the Summerland. The Summerland also functions as a place of rest between incarnations. As the name suggests, it is often envisioned as a place of beauty and peace, where everything people hold close to their hearts is preserved in its fullest beauty for eternity. It is envisioned as containing wide (possibly eternal) fields of rolling green hills and lush grass."

Some witches do believe in Heaven. And for your other question, the Summerland is simply a place where we rest and wait for loved ones before our next incarnation.

Most witches still believe in some form of afterlife or reincarnation but heaven itself is a Christian concept.

The view of the afterlife is varied among witches and pagans. Asatru believe you go to Valhalla. Some witches/pagans believe you reincarnate immediately. Kemetians believe in the Egyptian form of the afterlife. Your heart is weighed against Maat's feather and if you are found worthy, you cross over into the afterlife and be reincarnated. Some believe you go to Summerland (a type of heaven).
It varies according to what tradition and pantheon you follow.

Heaven and hell are christian concepts. Witches believe different things depending on their religion. being a witch does not mean you believe in a specific religion. Although in current time the term witch is associated with those that follow the wiccan path, that is not the only path that witches follow. The one common belief between almost all witches is acceptance of others, which, as has been proven by many of the other answers to this question, is 180 degrees away from the christian belief of hate, bigotry and intolerance.

as a witch, i'd have to say that its not that i dont believe in heaven....its just that i dont believe thats where i go. i believe that when we die, we go to a resting place before being incarnated again. i think that a soul is reincarnated several hundred times, perhaps always....but if there is an end of reincarnation then i believe that we go to someplace thats like summerland

Heaven is a Christian concept and a true Witch has their own set of beliefs about the afterlife. Some witches do believe in heaven, in fact there are many Christian-Wiccans out there.

Witches have many different beliefs on the afterlife. Some believe that people get exactly what he or she deserves (personalized heaven or hell so to say). Many believe in reincarnation as well.

Not all witches are pagan and not all pagans are witches. There are CHRISTIAN witches believe it or not and they're not evil, mostly they're healers. However, even pagan witches can believe in a form of heaven. Heaven (which can go by many names) is NOT one of Christianity's original concepts.....heaven is believed in by many religions, paganism included. And, to contradict many of the posters, witches as a general rule are not evil. There are "bad" witches, just as there are "bad" christians and "bad" people in general.
