Coz that's what we call REAL music!

There are a couple of reasons that we might like music from the old days. First, it has stood the test of time and is no longer experimental. Second, the music may remind us of good times from the past.

Because there was nothin wrong with the music back then, there was no cursin or nastiness about most of the music back then it was pure, jammin and fun. That's what I call music, especially the one that make you wanna dance like the cha cha slide, the perculater, the macaraina, the slow jams, jazz. Dude that was real music!

We all love the music from our youth because everything was new to us. It was "ours," and we are loyal to it because it brings back so many memories. We are all creatures of habit. Think about it! We always go back to the same dr., dentist, bars, grocery stores, etc.--our habits. Music--same story. It has been burned into our souls, and we will always prefer "our" music, no matter what our age now.

For me it's because of several reasons:
1. Not as synthesized and processed as today's music; when we heard bass or guitars it was because some dude (or gal) was actually playing it
2. Have you heard a singer as soulful and passionate as some of the older singers?
3. The quality of music. Man, some of the songs of the 60s were way before their time.

For most folks, they enjoy the music they heard when they mmmm became experienced in love (ok lost their virginity). And that pleasant memory sticks like gum on a shoe. In twenty years, teens of today will think Fergie and Hannah Montana and Ciara and Justin T'Lake were fabulous artists.

excuse me while I have a giggle.

Music and lyrics were so much more fun. If you watch the music videos from the 70's and 80's people were happy and smiling....

Music is a very powerful emotion inducer...I love the 80s big hair stuff, it reminds me of carefree teenager days when I had no credit card debt, no huge responsibilities. Those days were so fun and I had nothing but "wonderful" to look forward to! Now it's bills, work, housework.....pretty mundane stuff. I guess you associate music with where you are in your life at the time.

Because that music is linked to fond memories.
And because most of the newer music sucks.
