I am planning on getting a Breast Reduction and i went to see the Plastic Surgeon, does anyone know how long it usually takes the insurance company to tell you if they are approved it or not?

Four weeks.

After two weeks, call to ensure they have the documentation.

Two weeks later, call to see if there is a decision.

Please see at least THREE plastic surgeons before you choose. I ended up going with my second surgeon that I had a consult with.

Also check out this site, it helped me out a LOT with my reduction.

Regarding battlecry's answer below, check out http://www.bfar.org if you haven't already. There are plenty of women who can breastfeed after reduction. When they operate and take tissue out, they take out mostly fatty tissue and not much of the dense breast tissue that assists with breast milk.

Also, find a surgeon who will NOT remove the nipple (called a Free Nipple Graft), as this will better your chances of breastfeeding in the future.

You know that women pay thousands of dollars for what you have naturally? Of course I'm a breast guy and I don't have to carry them around and my back doesn't hurt but damn. If I did have them I would never leave the house!

Don't do that! its not only good becaus eit will get you a good sex partner maybe. But the breasts are meant for the child. If you reduce your breats size you also reduce the breasts milk for your baby off spring. Which means he or she will get less the vitamins and proteins it needs when its a baby to grow healthier, stronger and smarter.
