Well, considering that Britain is an island, it can't be very easy to sneak into the country. So the government must be letting them in, which means that you can control the immigration.

And do you have any evidence to suggest that mass immigration brings in more crime, or did you just make it up to support your position?

It wouldn't surprise me if people in many other European countries are asking the same.

Perhaps more so in the UK than any other Eurpopean country we only see things from our own perspective and have little knowledge of the issues and opinons on things such as immigration in other countries.

I doubt our situation is all that much different from any other western European country, which doesn't mean our situation is good though, there is definitely a problem to be addressed.

Hear, hear I couldn't agree with you more. We seem to be obliged to take in all the immigrants (both legal and illegal) that nowhere else wants. I live relatively near a port and have been told by friends that when the immigrants come in on the ferries they demand money, clothes and somewhere to live. They also expect the best of everything. It is wrong isn't it? When the people flee their own country they are meant to stop at the first country but this is not what is happening. Unfortunately you are right also when you say that mass immigration brings more crime.

I do not wish the crime rate to increase if there is a positive link to immigration

Crime is linked to poverty. As the population are encouraged to get the latest gadgets and so many can't afford them, some will get them on credit or in extreme cases resort to crime to pay for them.
It has nothing to do with immigration.

I know what you mean but isn't it crazy how much we put up with instead of getting together and storming the house of commons in our thousands or refusing to pay our taxes which are helping the people immigrating here. After all they cant jail tens of thousands of people can they.

Well, they're only following the example of those awful Romans, you know. And what did the Romans ever do for us that was so good?

And what about those vikings - coming over hear, pinching our women, taking our land. I can't be doing with them.

Then there's that William and his mob. Killing and taking over like they owned the place.

It makes you wonder where it will end.

Looks like it - they shut down that camp in France (Sangatte?) but they have all moved further south and are trying to come in via Ireland too.
Then there's the *legal* immigrants from Eastern Europe too.
