I'm so sorry. Usually it's just a few days. Drs. vary on whether to take it or let it come naturally. Just make sure there's no infection & that's really the case.
I had a friend that happened to and she refused to let the Dr. deliver her early. Oddly enough the shock of birth started his heart. It turned out the heart beat was so faint it couldn't be detected. The mother had been lost her father & the dr. said the fetus had absorbed her shock. It was weird. But the child was perfectly normal.
Please be kind to yourself and know your child is in the hollow of God's hand. Bless you.

I'm no doctor, but when a good friend of mine miscarried, it was about a month before her body attempted to purge the fetus. Of course, the time may vary by the person, your doctor would provide the best answer to this

When I had a missed miscarriage, I had sporadic bleeding for 2 1/2 weeks and the baby never passed, so I opted for the D&C. It could take several weeks or up to a month however.

Most likely you will have to have a procedure done to take the fetus out. Unfortunately not all miscarraiges and failed pregnancies run their course out of your body. You can have what they call a "stubborn cervix" or uncooperative one. I had a miscarraige last December, but my cervix wouldn't open and let it out and I got really sick.
My advice, go to the doctor's immediately and have them go through your options of procedures.
Good luck.

Usually within a few weeks, and it should be followed by a normal period.
However, sometimes not all of the fetal matter is expelled, and surgical intervention will be required.
If this is you, take care and I'm very sad for you.

It may or may not happen naturally.
You need to consult with the attending physician, to see if he/she wants to wait a couple of days to see if a natural miscarriage will occur, or if a D & C is necessary.

Sometimes the body won't miscarry when that happens and the doctor will have to do a D&C to remove it.

You need a DNC. Which is something only your doctor can do. In basic terms....it is a procedure the doctor does to clean you out.

You have to go to the doctors to take the fetus out, it won't come by itself and it can infecte you.
