What? A flea on the motherboard. I have 8 good and 1 dead mobos here and I can't seem to find a flea. But hey, there's one here. Oh, it's in my Pug!

Kidding aside, some motherboards have that Standby Power LED on the board itself. Once PC is plugged and power supply is ON, LED lights up even if PC is still OFF. Because the LED is about the size of a flea, some call it that way. ASUS motherboard manual labels it "SB Power" LED.

Flea, as you know it, lives on our head. Therefore, it's called flea LED because the tiny size of the LED itself.

It indicates that the mainboard has power connected to it.

Some instructions need this to die first in order to perform something like removing CPU or RAM.

Light + sticky board = flea trap
Light on motherboard = flea light (joke)

"Flea traps, such as those utilizing a light and glue board to attract and capture adult fleas, can be helpful but will not eliminate a flea infestation unless used in combination with other methods."
