Is there any game you would like to see as a movie? It is always so controversial whether the idea to do this is a good one. Halo is currently being made into a movie, but the project is on hold while the finances are worked out. I think it will be pretty good if it's made.
One movie I would love to see is a Zelda movie. Made right, I think a movie based on the Zelda series (primarily "A Link to the Past" and 'Ocarina of Time") would be great, not to mention a huge success.
Your thoughts?

Yeah, I've seen the BMB Finishes trailer and website for their "Hero of Time" movie. Unfortunately, and it's just my opinion, I think it looks like crap. The cinematography, cast and wardrobe selection looks terrible, but who knows, I haven't seen the movie. I realize it's independent, but I just hope that in the distant future, if making a Zelda movie is ever considered (even though Nintendo said they will not make one), this isn't the movie they will look at as a basis for their decision.

I always cringe at the sound of the phrase, "It's a movie based on a video game." Not because I hate movies or video games, but rather due to the excruciatingly bad movies put out in the past that have been based on video games.
As far as The Legend of Zelda, Nintendo has publicly stated that there will be no feature film created (or financed) by their company. This is unfortunate, as I have always thought that this game would translate well onto the big screen.
However, they also stated that they would allow fans to legally produce and distribute a movie based on the Zelda series. In fact, a group of fans (under the company banner "BMB Finishes") have started production of a full-length movie based (generally) on the events in The Ocarina of Time. However, this movie will only be distributed via the Internet for free (at least that is what has been announced), and some fans have noted the long production time for the movie (and have jumped to the conclusion that it is a scam to raise money). You be the judge. My source has a link to the official site for the movie, which includes a trailer and much info.
EDIT: Yeah, the Zelda movie is pretty low-budget. Personally, I feel they could have found a better person to play Link; though the actor portraying Ganondorf looks the part. Like you, I hope a bigger company will create a Zelda movie in the future.

Man, why dont people take time to read the question right? Transformers was out as a cartoon LONG before they made a video game about it. I would have to Agree with Dr. Evil on the first one. Cause all the James Bond Movies were Legendary, cause everyone should know about them. Plus the Game, was probably the best game I ever played on the N64. Even though the movie came out before the game. But there hasnt been that many movies based off video games. The best is Mortal Kombat. But I do not know a worst one, because they all must have sucked SO BAD. Now if you switched the question and asked, whats the best video game based off a Movie/tv show I could tell you easily. But yea...Doom sucked ***. But....the worst would be...Street Fighter. I remember watching that about a week ago...and didnt make it past the first 10 minutes.

I would really like to see a movie based on the original Fallout RPG games.
They could do a really good screenplay for the quest for Vault 13. They already had a cast of voice characters over the years with the likes of Richard Dean Anderson, Ron Perlman, Clancy Brown, Keith David, Brad Garrett, Tony Shalhoub, Richard Moll and the list goes on....so many can actually portray the actual game characters if done properly using makeup and or CGI.
There already is a general feel for the game and a very good base to take the story through a variety of characters, vehicles, devices (like the stims and the PipBoy), creatures and landscapes introduced throughout the original game as well as character obstacles such as the onslaught of Super Mutants and defeat of the Master Mutant, etc. Half the movie is already "written" by the interactions by the game characters. (some significant scripting would need to be reworked to plot a movie storyline catering to a non-gamer audience)
It would be an entertaining do-able movie for 2 hours.

A Metal Gear Solid movie could be interesting if done right. Of course after such stellar ports like Mortal Kombat, Super Mario Bros, and Street Fighter sometimes I think movies & video games should keep to their respective platforms.

They should have a God of War movie, and if they made it good then it would be the best movie ever made. I agree with you on a Zelda movie, though it would be sort of weird.
I'm adding to the list, a movie based on the Splinter Cell games.

I think a Zelda movie would be really cool too... Also, Kingdom Hearts would be really sweet. I love that game and I think it would be sweet if they did a movie based on that game like they did with Final Fantasy.

To date, the only video game movie even worth watching is Street Fighter, mostly because they gave Zangeif (no, I didn't spell it correctly) some really funny lines.
"You got paid?!"
hrm....well, I must correct myself. The Resident Evil movies were decent, mostly due to Ms. Jojovich's presence. *ahem*
