Invading Iraq was a stupid idea doomed to failure - and no amount of money can change that fact. So the answer is, no.

Bush can't actually raise taxes, that's not a power of the executive branch. Congress would have to do it, just as Congress is passing the funding measures to keep the war going.

I would prefer to see the war funded by special low-interest 'war bonds' offered for sale to the general public. At below-market interest, they'd only sell to those who /wanted/ to support the war. If enough didn't sell...

When our taxes have to be raised 25 or 50%, it can only mean two things...the enemy is doing so well our way of life is finished...or...democrats are in control of the presidency, senate, and congress.

Yes I would, but the reality is it won't happen. Bush is trying to execute supply-side economics, or Reagonomics to pay for the war. If he succeeds, then all this talk about impending doom for the US on account of finances will all be a joke.

In the first place no amount or no less money would ever make me support this war that is built on nothing but Pure Bush Lies.

Do you have any idea what it costs to keep security up in Israel on a weekly basis? Israel is about the size of Rhode Island,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,So how much is it going to cost for the rest of our country if we pull out without winning.

I never have supported it so far. I don't think raising my taxes would make me all of a sudden start supporting it.
