When the car gets to the danger zone, the a/c gets hot and the cd player turns off. The car keeps overheating but no water or oil leaks. The fans are working, I have changed the thermostat and the radiator cap. Does anyone know what could be wrong with my car.

I forgot to mention that I had the radiator flushed out about a month ago.

I agree with the other two answers but I'd like to add to them as well. Have you checked your hoses? A bad hose can cause this as well. You really have to feel them to tell if they're bad since coolant hoses deteriorate from the inside out. You can't visually tell if these hoses are bad unless you feel them or they fail.
My Mazda MPV was doing that after I had my coolant replaced. The problem was that there was air in the system- which was causing the thermostat to not open since the air in the system.
Another thing could be your headgasket needs replacing. Hopefully that's not the case. My suggestion would be to:

1.Have the system pressure tested.
2.Check your hoses.
3.Check for bubbles in the lines or have the system checked for bubbles.

Also, another thing for you to have checked would be your heater coil. If that goes bad, you will have the same symptoms. While a clogged radiator seems inconceivable, a coolant flush could've damaged something inside the radiator. The system test will let you know. I hope this helps.

If you've already changed out everything you've stated
the only things left are either
1. Radiator is clogged up and not cooling efficiently
2. Bad water pump not circulating the coolant effectively

The first mistake you made was buying from a family member or a friend. The noise when started is a loose belt ,have it replaced. as far as the jerking goes maybe your coil may be bad...try a used one from a junk yard and see if the problem still exists. You say the plugs have been changed take them out and check to see if there gaped properly. As far as your Cruise not working properly , its going to be expensive to fix ,when you can't do the work yourself. Maybe try not using it ( now that's a cheap fix ) for the cruise. And the person you bought the car from was probably aware of the problems.that's why he/she got rid of it.

Have the radiator checked, even though it's not leaking it could be clogged and needs cleaning and flushing
