I think once shock value lessens, that society as a whole has a shift if perspective, a recentering of things, so that as time progresses, what seemed way out, doesn't seem so way out after the initial WTF? What is odd, is that throughout history, with exception of the 19th and 20th century, there was a higher tolerance if not outright acceptance of homosexuality. With the hardwork of many voices who have suffered at the hands of the ignorant times will change for the better.

A lot of things have changed in the past ten years.
With the internet and other medias, more and more information is commonly known about homosexuality.
This greater understanding, in my opinion, has led to an easing in tensions as people are less likely to fear what they understand.
Though the laws still have to catch up with the rising acceptance (We can't legally marry yet!) it is much better and we don't have to fear for our safety (in most cities) if we walk down the street holding hands with our partners.
There will always be those bigots holding out, of course, but it has improved on the whole.

Because we have been forced to accept them due to our so called "freedom" we are no longer allowed to have views & believe in what's right & wrong. I still say I don't agree with homosexuality! because I believe that God said it's a forbidden act.But I don't put them down & I do interact with them where necseeary but that is my belief that I think what they're doing is wrong. You even have some religions accepting them even though it says in many of the religious books that it is forbidden. If God said that then I don't believe you can change what he said to suit the times!!.

Its probably because the straight people that were ok with it spoke their opinions and then other people who agreed with them did and now its a pretty normal thing around where i live (ny), so i think its just the development of people becoming more mature and open to new ideas and ways of life

Because we now know that homosexuality is a condition you are born with not some sort of perversion and of course the church has far less influence in law making than they used to have. That can only be said to be a very good thing

Because us "gay" people are standing up for ourselves and we are not scared anymore of how people are closed minded. We have people in law that are helping us to have equal rights. It is just like when in the 50's & 60's when blacks had to sit in the back of the bus. It is a steady progression of society to accept everyone's differences.

Because people's opinions and perspectives change with time, as they always have done. Maybe in another fifteen or so years, things will be even better.

Humans as a whole develop ove time in the same way an individual would develop. Our movies get less corny, our trends change, our technology advances, and we become more tolerant as life goes on.

You do have a factor. tell a teenager to no longer do something and a few will smash their necks to do it besides. the government relatively thinks we don't be responsive to what's undesirable for us. I smoke and that i knew from the 1st actual 2nd of the 1st actual draw off a cigarette and that i almost hacked up the two my lungs that this won't be good for me or perhaps innocuous. yet states are cracking down on underage vices like tobacco because of the federal government classes that fund specific state classes. do no longer crack down and Uncle Sam won't supply you, your state subsidies. And enable me inform you, the police can't be everywhere to bust a number of those young ones doing what's a factor of coming of age. some gets busted for it, whilst others in simple terms won't. At maximum suitable it is going to positioned the monkey good back on the mum and dad' back. the little ones who desire to smoke will scouse borrow the mum and dad' cigarettes, the mum and dad' will ultimately seize on and take it from there. a pal of mine had to take her son to the Emergency room on account that her son had no money for cigarettes and grow to be continuously 'bumming' one off of somebody. So, somebody laced a cigarette and gave it to her youngster and it almost killed him. on account that he grow to be going to smoke, the mummy began procuring him the cigarettes so she knew what he grow to be getting.
