Okay, I've recently found ants crawling on my living room carpet. The are those little brown ants... some people call them sugar ants, sweet ants, house ants, pavement ants, etc. Whatever they are, how can I get rid of them without using toxins or poisons so it'll be safe for my family and our pet cat???? I've heard to use baby powder... but does it really work??? All suggestions are greatly appreciated...

I even have pets and in basic terms presently had an ant concern. i attempted a sprays and ant baits. Neither of those worked. The ants in basic terms walked around the place I had sprayed and under no circumstances went in the traps. I asked around and a chum cautioned try against ant killing gel. i chanced on some at an area ironmongery shop and it worked super. i replaced into surprised at how attracted the ants have been to the gel and then how briskly they died after eating the gel. And my pets weren't in any respect involved in the gel.

I have used laundry detergent diluted by soap. I had two cats at the time and it didn't bother them at all. Also, (and this is coming from a professional exterminator who came to our office to fix the problem) You can go to Home Depot and get Borax which comes in a tube. You can put it in the corner of the walls where you think the problem is coming from. Then, when you see the ants, don't kill them, because they will begin to bring back borax and kill the whole colony.

I'm guessing you should vacuum them up then duct tape over and holes in the walls or corners. Good luck :D
