There are lots of Skylines popping up in the US i see many members on the http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/index.php
free forum these have models from the r32 r33 and r34.And the g35 which is badged skyline over here.
Also i was watching a car show filmed in the US and there where loads of road legal Skylines on there.
The best folks to talk to are prob the US members on the forum do a search on there and mail pm them.
These owners will give you the best advice and standards you need to reach to insure them etc.
To another answeer why would you have to change the wheel over ?and with what they never made the dash for the other side etc.

The Skyline is the Japanese Domestic that is comprable to the Infiniti G-35 in body style. If it is a true Skyline, it would be right hand drive.

I've seen US Infiniti G-35 with skyline badges on them. The upgrades usually include bigger brakes and wheels.

If the car is a US upgraded G35 you shouldn't have to do anything provided your state doesn't inspect for street legal emissions mods. When you buy a car on ebay you don't know if they've added any non-conforming engine equipment that would make it 'illegal' in States that do smog tests or emission inspections.

If its a Japan vehicle you'll not be able to make it 'legal' because of the compliance issues facing the import of 'gray' market cars.

I would suggest you 'ask the seller a question' on ebay--that question should be 'is this an original US market vehicle and if so, what was done to make it a Skyline?" The answer to that should tell you what to do.

hope that helps

They are all illegeal.
First, you have to convert the steering wheel and brake/gas pedals to the other side.
You have to find a bodykit that could withstand 5 mph crashes. If it can dent at 4 mph, its illegal. You will need to get a new exhaust system to make sure the smog passes in the U.S.
You also have to put an electronic limiter that limits the top speed of the car from 165 to 155mph.
The only street legal cars that are allowed to go over 155mph are Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Maserati, and Bently.
