The Marlins have cheerleaders. I think they could have cheerleaders too, but I guess there just isn't much room for them. That's a good question though. I know the Marlins do have cheerleaders though.

No Way! Baseball fans are different than fans in other sports. They know the game. Cheerleader are not necessary in Baseball. Fans know when to cheer. They don't need someone to tell them whats a good play or when their team needs some support (except at an Angel game). so don't insult fans by putting cheerleader on the field.

Baseball doesnt need cheerleaders, they would be too loud and distracting for the game. Leave the cheering to the fans!

I would think that the reason is where would they stand and perform?? Unlike football foul territory is in play in baseball. They would be in danger for most of the game of getting hit with either a ball or interferring with a player trying to make a play in foul territory.

I always considered the people (usually girls) that go around the field between innings and shoot shirts and food into the crowd as cheerleaders. Most people cheer for free stuff despite the fact sitting more than three rows up usually won't get you anything.

I think cheerleading is pointless in sports. I think cheerleading should be all competition instead of having cheerleaders for games and then have cheerleaders that go to competitions.
