I asked the question earlier "Is my rabbit definatly pregnant" came home from work and sure enough there are four baby bunnies in a load of her fur! What shall I do now? How long do I keep then for? I wasnt quick enough to put her in a nesting box so she is in her normal cage which isnt huge/can I move them if not now when????? Also she has put her nest under the water bottle she drinks from, they may get wet and it doesnt look like she is going to move them - well as of yet she hasnt! One more thing, she must have had them about 6 hours ago now and I have been watching her (she cant see me) for the past two hours and it looks like she hasnt been near them and they are wriggling alot
as if they want food from mum. What about if she doesnt go to them, will they die ? She is lying down the other side of the cage, I bet she is exhausted but I dont want them to die. Please help. Erm one more thing, when are they ready to go to new homes? This is all very new to me!Thanks alot for any help

Its me again-- I can see you are stressing out about this. Ok-- it is fine that you moved them. Just try not to touch them excessivly. She only feeds them at night which I told you so dont worry about that. The babies will wiggle alot to try to snuggle up to eachother uder the fur and keep warm.
They are not going to die-
You can let the bunnies og to other homes at about 8 weeks. They will be eating solids at this time and will eb about full grown.

If this is her first time, she probaly doesn't know what to do. It is ok to keep the babies in the orginal nest. Try to encourage her to feed and care for the babies- if she's mad, leave her alone. Lay the mom down and show the babies her nipples to eat- if she's let you. it's ok to touch the babies BUT only when you need to, too much handling isn't good. If the mother doesn't feed for them in the next like 5 hours, I would look for a "foster mom" - just to be safe. barely move the nest- just to get it out of the water bottle.

the babies are ok in mums fur, they don't need a box..
1/ if mom doesn't feed her babies they will die, but maybe she did & she's taking a break -- not much you can do either way unless you want to feed the babies yourself every few hours or so
2/ move the water bottle so it doesn't leak on the nest
3/ if everything goes well, the babies will have their hair in a few days & be hopping around w/in a couple or few weeks
4/ give them away when they are 8 wks old

Make sure the mum gets plenty of water to drink...she'll be exhausted. if there is plenty of hay for them she will eventually bed them down. she has plucked her fur out to make their nest. i know you're worrying, but please don't...she will sense that you are there and might be quite tetchy herself. just leave nature to do its job. if any die you will find she buries them or moves them away anyway. in a few days they will open their eyes and after about 12/14 days they will start snooping around seeing whats what. i know its hard, but just leave them to their own devices and they'll be fine....good luck
sorry forgot to mention......if you intervene in the nest she may attack them.....i always try to remember that they manage well in the wild, and that helps. as long as mum is eating and drinking she'll be ok...maybe a bit shellshocked for a day .....enjoy your bunnies xx

just leave them there, check on them every morning and evening, they should take about 8 weeks or so to leave there mother. i dont think they are fed the first day, if tomorow they arent gettig any food then take them out and feed them milk by hand.

I'd leave her to it. Let nature take its course.
When my bunny unexpectadly gave birth I worried that she wasn't feeding her babies too, but they don't feed them that often and its usually in the night.
