Nothing can be done abt it.Bcoz the cost of producing is much lower in China. And the sheer number of products made in China is so huge that we cannot check each and every one of it.One thing we can do is keeping chinese plastices etc away frm kitchen when they are used to store food etc they may prove more contagious. And also take care abt baby products.Others like pens,Cheap headphones car accessories ,articles to be put in shelf,Christmas decorations etc can be used without much fear.

That's a loaded question.
No. The market is driven by consumer spending. The offset of manufacturing jobs buy importing is offset by the increased purchasing power of the consumer. We can either say that we live in a free country in which consumers are given the choice whether to purchase Chinese products or spend more for money on an equal product made here at home. Or we can say we live in a Government driven society, that gives us little choice as to how we live our lives.
If General motors, for example, cannot produce a vehicle and compete with Japanese imports, they should not put tariffs on the imported products, General motors should have to compete or go away.
The workers in the plants have nothing to gain by the lack of competition. The consumer is harmed buy being forced to pay more for a product. And the owners and executives of the manufacturers are laughing all the way to the bank.
This drives inflation and weakens our economy. Eventually our government is destined to rule us into oblivion and our nation will go the way of the roman empire. Freedom is our only savior from this fate.
The right to choose what we buy and from whom is as big a part of who we are, as our freedom of speech or our right to bear arms. Remember, Walmart is the second largest employer in the united states. The federal government is the first. If we do not find a way to correct our run away bureaucracy, our fate is doomed.

Imports always run the risk of damaging the economy. That's not to say they always damage it, of course.
The fundamental problem with importation is taking away business from domestic companies. But history will show that placing tariffs (taxes on imports) not only hurt domestic business by driving prices sky-high, but they also hurt international business by hurting all other countries that might be making a profit on their exports.
All in all, domestic economies need to adjust to international economy and not slip back into protectionist and conservative views to keep prices down for consumers.
China's products are undergoing a major reformation, as the government of China is now (understandably) imposing high regulatory standards for its products.

It may be too late, simply because you have invested into those corporate Americans and devalued the communities that receive most of those risky products. You may be also one of those individuals that have given the vote away simply out of the belief that you have the right to vote now so caste it some where and don't worry. You may even be one of those individuals that display hate for China, giving them reason to tender to our population sub standard products, like replaceable disposable toys and other consumables. with the knowledge of American vendors. !~CHANT~A~SEALLAH~!

We need to go back to more American made items. I know that it is cheaper to have the Chinese make our products but what is it truly doing to our economy?

i think so if we actually took the time out to make our own products and pay people what they are worth. we are wasting money when they recall many products so why not pay someone to do them right. theirs many people who could use jobs. if their people have no jobs then thats their job to fix not ours.
