Hi. My name is Pragna and I am a research assistant at an I/O psychology lab in Rutgers University. We are studying Katrina's effect on small businesses in New Orleans. We are looking for business owners with a story to tell (the obstacles your business faced). If you would be willing to lend us this priceless insight please contact me at pragna@eden.rutgers.edu. ***TO ALL*** we are also trying to get as much frontline information as we can on what medium of communication (Phone, cell phone, internet, sat. phone, texting) those who stayed in the area during the hurricane were and were not able to utilize.

Not me, but hear this.

A lady from New Orleans lost her restaurant. She was relocated to Galveston, TX.
She found a menial job and brought her own lunch to work. Her fellow employees began to request that she bring lunches for them.
She eventually brought 50 lunches a day.

She now has opened a new successful restaurant in Galveston, TX.

It's called "JU JU". Cajun menu.

The entire story can be found in the Galveston Daily News.
If you're interested, you may contact the newspaper. Maybe online. It was published in May or June, this year.

Or you can locate her phone number.

A better idea may be to find a small business organization in New Orleans and ask them, as they would have the most connections to this.

Plus I'm sure the city didn't lose too many records since it seemed to be mostly residential that got wiped out, so why not contact them to find out how many small businesses there were before the hurricane and how many there were after, along with contact info for the business owners so you can contact them?
