The movie is called September Dawn, and is about a group of Mormon extremists who massacre a pioneer family moving through their territory in the late 1800's.

Gee, could it have ANYTHING to do with the fact that the GOP is putting up a strong Mormon presidential candidate? The fact that this movie is even being made is curious enough, but the timing of its release? Sorry, I smell a rat! Another Hollywood hit piece on the GOP.

This hit piece has been in the works a long time. It was not extremists that were involved. It was ordinary farmers. It could be a morality tale for what could go wrong in any other wise well meaning group. Unfortunately, they will not bring out a balanced account that will explore what really went wrong. They blame everything on Brigham Young. That he ordered it. Then for some reason the settlers send a rider to get instructions. There is a rat in Hollywood. It is just timing that they can hit two birds with one stone.

Paranoid much? FYI, Hollywood movies can take years to get rolling. They can't just throw together a movie together within a year or 6 months. Also, with the cost involved a studio is not going to make a movie just to take down a Republican candidate. (I thought Guiliani was the front-runner anyway.) The movie could lose tons of money and if they were actually trying to discredit a candidate there'd be no guarantee that the audience would associate the movie with the candidate. I've heard about the movie but the last thing on my mind when I read about it was the Presidential race. I just didn't make the association and I have a feeling others won't either. Wouldn't it have made more sense to put the movie out during the election year if what you said were true?

Oh, boo hoo. The Hollywood liberals hate the GOP, right? I'm a libertarian but you conservatives need to stop whining about everything. It makes you look sensitive, I thought liberals were the only sensitive people. Maybe Hollywood did do it for that reason or they planned it before Romney came on the spotlight. Try to find out. Either way I know about the history of the massacre, it is true so they will only be showing something that truly happen. Just like many killed Mormons. I think this might actually benefit Romney and get him even more attention. Is just a movie, man.

haha! it was actually leaked that the clinton campaign is actually help fund the movie! (it's on the internet- don't know of the credibilty of the source) but apparantley the movie was to be made along time ago- but no one wanted to fund it- enter the clintons- and all of the sudden you got a funded movie set to realease right in the middle of elections, who just coincidently might damage an opposing candidate! hmmm...politics are dirty! whats even sadder is it supposidly has such a hollywood twist on it that it makes it seem even worse than it is! (it was still really bad- but the half truths they tell in the movie- it might as well have been the holocaust!)
what i would like to see them make a movie on would be the hans mill massacre, or the torture and driving out of homes and killings that mobs did to the mormons BEFORE mountain meadows. or how there was an exterminatioin oreder in missouri on mormons- now that would be an intersting movie to release right before election! remember there is two sides of a story, and hollywood is only interested in the side that will sell the movie ( and the clintons only in the side that will damage their competitor) sad that this country would even hold something against romeny that happened over 100 years ago, and he had nothing to do with!

Hate to tell you this but movies are made roughly 2 years or longer before they are released. This movie was made way before the candidates were announcing a run etc. And hate to tell you also, that there was a group of Mormons who did kill. Any other conspiracy theories you wish to make known? I am a former Mormon.

I don't think the 2 (video and the candidate) are related. A desire to document a massacre that the Mormon church has denied has been around for a century. The _true_ history of the Mormons has a lot more bad things in it than they admit to.

Hey, look up the phrase Mormon Persecution Complex...and think about it. Anyway, this isn't a conspiracy. This movie has been in the works for years, and from all accounts is supposed to be a terrible movie. Its not a big deal.

If you think any person with half a brain considers Hollywood a political gauge, you're even more looney than those perpetual Betty Ford Clinic residents that inhabit that cesspool.

That movie has been in the works for years. They were showing post-production clips back in January.

It seems like the hero of the movie is a Mormon who defies a renegade sect of other Mormons.

And I don't think Mitt Romney is going to be nominated, so don't sweat it.

The timing does seem interesting. And yet, help me find a recent movie about Muslim extremists.
