I have found a studio and am prepared to to catch up to my age group. I am a very determined person; if I want something I will achieve it. If I get a career in dance then i would like to actually be dancing-anything from a Rockette to a ballerina. I have taken about a year in jazz,so while I am a beginner, I am not entirely new to dancing.

I'm going to take ballet, but should I take jazz, lyrical or tap for the other? I can only take one other than ballet for now.

You are never too old to pursue your dreams. You will have to work extra hard to catch up to people in your age group, but if you are willing to practice at home, then you will get even better faster. Ask your dance teacher things you should be working on at home. Also try to find different dance workshops and classes in your area. Try to take as much as possible, the more you dance the better you'll get. Also, the Rockettes always have different workshops too, so check that out on their website. SOmething like that would be great for you, because you could actually meet them and dance with them so you would know what it's like. You are still young at 14, so don't let anyone tell you that you can't do it. Follow your heart and dance!

No, yet you extra perfect get crackin. in case you have an activity in commencing a occupation as a ballerina, be responsive to that it relatively is relatively complicated and you will need some organic skills, luck, and the the main suitable option physique style (regrettably, that keeps to be the way ballet works) fairly on account that fourteen is relatively previous due. even with the incontrovertible fact that, no count what style of dance you desire a occupation in, ballet instructions are a could desire to, inspite of hip-hop. in case you have a background in ballet, your charm to an company will enhance very much. Is it obtainable to test some instructions? That way you will discover out what you get exhilaration from the main. I took all those instructions, and that i found faucet to be the least complicated, hip-hop to be the funnest, and ballet to be the single i grow to be maximum prepared approximately. additionally be open-minded approximately different careers alongside with coaching dance or transforming into a choreographer. certainly even with the incontrovertible fact that, transforming into a Rockette or hip-hop dancer would be (for loss of a extra perfect observe) way less demanding than the line to transforming into a ballerina. one extra element: while you're intense, make effective that your studio is pre-proffessional or has instructors with backgrounds as proffessional dancers. those studios gets you right away on the line to being a dancer. one extra element!!: heavily evaluate getting a school degree in dance in the past you grow to be a proffessional. this supplies you the education you desire, you is in simple terms no longer rejected by employing your instructors, (who're oftentimes extra considerate and style than hardcore faculties) and you'd be arranged on your life after a dance occupation. Sorry for rambling. good luck!

No, you are not too old. You should try taking jazz, ballet, and modern.
Try to take a little ballroom, hip-hop, tap, and tumbling (although tumbling is not technically dance, it is very beneficial for dancers) classes.
Try as many types of dances as you can!

You're not too old to start, but you do have a lot of work ahead of you. A lot of people start dance at a very young age, even as young as two. That doesn't mean that you can't catch up to them. It just means you have a lot of work to do. If dancing is in your heart, you will achieve it. Good luck!

I believe one can start dancing at any age... As long as you are willing to pay the price (to do whatever it takes to stay in the game) Dancing is probably the toughest career out there so good luck.

No, not at all. But it helps to know how to dance, to take dance lessons of different kinds of dancing. You've already learned jazz dancing, not try for blues, country, and salsa. I suggest concentrating on one kind at a time.
