Beer preference is a matter of opinion, so there is no "best" beer. However, it would really depend on the style.

Pilsner beer originated in Pilsen Czechoslovakia, so they would be recognized as having the best.

Lager beers originated in Germany, so they would have the best, although Budwiser claims to be a lager beer, which it is not, and billions of people drink it. Bud products would not pass the German beer laws, because Anheuser-Busch uses rice in place of most of the barley malt. Rice is not allowed in pure German beer (nor is wood chips...). A-B uses rice instead of pure barley because it is much cheaper than barley. It is also the highest carbohydrate grain, which is why Bud doesn't have a true Light beer. If A-B made Bud Light the same wy that Miller makes Miller Lite, (which is a true light beer by design), Bud Light would not qualify as having 1/3 less calories, because of the Carbohydrates from the rice. So, all that Bud Light is, is Budweiser watered down by 1/3. You get not only 1/3 the calories, but also 1/3 the alcohol, and 1/3 the taste.

Ales are traditionally best from Belgium or France, as they originated with the Belgian Trappist Monks.

It goes on and on from there...

Personally, for me -- the best beers come from Wisconsin. Leinenkugel (Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin) makes tremendous beers. Regular Leinenkugel, Leiney Light, Red, Summer Wheat, and Northwoods Lager are fantastic beers. They just have very limited distribution, because they are a smaller brewery, but they have been around since the mid 1800's! I have never met anyone who didn't love Leiney's once they tried it!

Oh, and to the woman who said Germany because Heineken comes from there -- you are dead wrong. Heineken comes from Amsterdam, Netherlands!

The BEST beer comes from my kitchen. Hubby is a home brewer and his beer tastes just like chocolate milk. I have to be carefull about my consumption because it packs one h*ll of a punch. Plus, We have a refridgerator in our bedroom that he modified to hold the different kegs of types of beer and added taps to, so I simply jump from my bed, cross over to the other side of the room and voila! I have the richest, darkest, delicous, ice cold beer in a matter of seconds! Would be easy to get carried away - which, I'm sure, he wouldn't mind. ;) Yup. Right here in the gold ol' US of A!

Green Beer from Ireland!
Of all my favorite things to do,
The utmost is to have green brew.
My love grows for my foamy friend,
with each thirst-quenching elbow bend.
Beer's so frosty, smooth, and cold -
It's paradise----Pure liquid gold.
Yes beer means many things to me
that's all for now, I gotta pee

Depends on if you like beer, light beer, ale, cold (35) or root (50) temperature beer. Wierd (făg) beer only in the US.
Beer - Canada and Germany tied.
Light Beer - USA
Ale - England
Cold beer - Canada and USA
Root temp - Germany
Făg stuff (pineapple, strawberry, etc) I guess SF.
