stoneground has a point stairway and free bird are way over played even today you still here it once a day on the radio eruption is pretty much a song for eddie to solo in, i wouldn't count it as a song free bird has good lyrics and guitar i'd choose free bird

free bird is kind of annoying now cause my sister keeps on playing it in guitar hero2. as for eruption, i don't think i've heard it before. Stairway to Heaven is alot better than free bird.

Eruption is better, Free Bird isn't freakin' difficult, i mean its amazing, but it isn't that difficult. i don't know any other guitarist other than Eddie that can play Eruption.

Freebird is a great song I heard it live by THE origional Lynard Skynard Band
Eruption is a great intro. into an old classic by The Kinks
"You Really Got Me"
I really don't consider "Eruption" a song per say just a fantastic intro. with really great guitar riffs one after another.
That's my opinion.

The songs you're asking about are like comparing apples to lobsters,they're completely different.
I've played Freebird in bands for years as a kid and I just about want to throw up when I hear it and do anything to avoid my ears having to go through that kind of torture.
That song and "Stairway to Heaven" were way overplayed in their day.
Well there's your answer, but as songs go Van Halen is great but I wouldn't have chosen that song for several reasons.
Eddie has far better lines than what he played in Eruption.
Listen to "I know a little" for a great skynyrd song.
The world is round except for the flat spots.
