HI I'm back,
anyway, I love old movies,
check out "The Great Escape"
Cool hand Luke, was a man who believed, in himself, and would not be afraid, to try
he would play on the weakness of others, he would play on the officers, believing he was beat.
examples egg eating contest
when he was been beaten by the guards
The photo of the girls with him
Takes off in the work truck
two kids on the farm

The movie was very well produced.
all the movies to day, rely on animation and quick angle changes, most actors only remember a minute or 2 of lines, in this case lasted much longer, (lots of lines to remember)
This movie relied on the actors and producers ability to make a movie, frankly they did an excellent job.

enjoy

I think there was an anti-authoritarian subtheme to the movie that appealed to many people at the time which resonated more with the audience than it would today.

The gutsy main character was standing up to sadistic prison guards, which is a storyline which will endure.
Or should.

And, of course, Paul Newman was in it.

"What we have here, is a failure to communicate"! This is a classic anti-establishment film which totally fits the mood of the 1960's in the United States. The 1960's were all about revolt and change. You have to learn to appreciate symbolism and imagery in movies to truly appreciate them. The acting, writing and directing are superb.

It is a '70's thing. Was forward, rebellious and cutting edge in its time; however, by 2007 standards is lame.
