sweetie, you need sleep. it is counter productive to stay up all night studying. without sleep, your brain cannot process and retain all the inforamtion you're studying. i swear it's true. you sound very smart, research it. do the best you can before 9 or 10, and then go to bed. try it for a couple weeks. i bet you feel much better and even do better in classes.

I do the same thing if your in school right now you cant do **** like that even though its so hard to go to bed when your wide awake and trust me I know because ima night owl. You just gotta set an alarm clock or tell your mom to wake you up at 5 take some vitamins and drink some red bull haha. Also take a nap during the day for like 30 mins to an hour at like 3 or 4, dont sleep longer than an hour bc then you wont be able to sleep during the night.

Right now, you are operating on 3.5 hours sleep, and that's assuming you're actually asleep at 1:30 a.m. as opposed to just getting into bed at that time. Eighty percent (80%) of the body's healing and recuperating from the day's stresses, anxieties, and activities occurs in the sleep. The body needs anywhere from 6-8 hours of sleep minimum to accomplish this. The younger you are, the more sleep you need, so you probably need eight hours. I understand that you seem to have a "good" reason for staying up, but you're really not serving yourself well by operating on so little sleep consistently. I'm sure that you have what's called a sleep debt (you owe your body sleep) and are now suffering from sleep deprivation. Sleep deprivation reduces memory capability, reduces the ability to concentrate, and causes other health problems. If you desire to correct these effects, you'll have to recondition your body to another sleep schedule. Natural sleep aids such as chamomile tea, valerian root, or warm milk might help. Check with a doctor first before taking anything, though. I strongly advise you to get more sleep; the negative effects of sleep deprivation only worsen as time passes. I recently had a sleep study and learned that I'm sleep deprived even though I'm sleeping 6-8 hours each night. Not only must the body be asleep for that long, it must be deeply in the four stages of sleep in order to heal and for sleep to be most effective. Please look into other options.

A lot of people suffer from problems like yours. You are naturally a "night person". Some of us just start waking up after 10 PM. Sometime after midnight is our peak hours. It just means that you circadian rhythms are different from a lot of the world. You can shift your patterns somewhat and be alert in the daytime world. An important thing is that you get up EVERY morning at 5 AM even if you plan to take that day off. Try not to nap. By night time, for a while you may still feel wakeful, but at least you'll be tired. To sleep earlier at night, don't exercise and hour before you want to sleep, but do exercise during the day. Don't read or watch stimulating TV before sleep. Try the traditional remedies of warm milk. If that doesn't help you get sleepy try valerian or melatonin. If you still have difficulty with sleeping you can try OTC sleep meds like Tylenol PM. If you try all this and still have trouble, see a doctor. You may even be referred to a sleep specialist. Oh, and although you may need caffeine to wake up, try to eliminate it in the afternoon and evening. Good luck.

Do your best to get more sleep. It is really the best way. I know, you might say you study that late, but watch yourself and write down everything you do (w/ times) for a couple of days, and you will see that not all you do is study. After that you will realise that you can do without certain activities, so you can manage your time better.

Being 14 you need at least 8 hours to keep yourself up, and not run down. I would suggest you get more sleep, this will help you stay focused during the day and not allow you to fall asleep. Please for your body's sake get more rest. Also a LOUD alarm clock works wonders.

You don't. You need that sleep. Otherwise, you can't concentrate. It's a proven fact! Go to bed at midnight or earlier. It would for sure be better than 1:30 a.m!
