His head on a plate. Good luck, he is not your provider anymore, and I doubt that a judge will grant your his life insurance, unless *YOU* pay for it. He has to support his children if he has any with you.

Man, you women in the states are unbelievable!! So stuck on material things, thats why all the guys are constantly divorcing you and finding women elsewhere. Alimony!?!?! You girls are out of your minds!! This will change in the near future because currently this is absolutely retarded; why should he have to pay you alimony, you chose to be with him and do whatever you did.

Realistically, if you divorce, you should get what you brought in, half of what you two built or owned together. Thats it. This isnt a lottery where the gal gets everything and guy gets screwed. If you want this insurance policy then be prepared to offer him the same. Jesus, do you girls have no ethics or conscience?

you won't get a life insurance policy...if you have kids they will get one payable to them. Once you are divorced you have no rights to any of that. You may not get a lot of what you want. My only concern was my kids...I wanted full custody and child support...every thing else was a bonus. Ask for more and then have your top 2 or 3 things you really want. This way you have bargaining points to play with...they will think you are willing to give things up but if they don't really matter to you you haven't lost anything.

You can get life insuranc or be on the same policy for a certain amount of yrs. Sit down and seriously think about what all you have in this marriage (had) and really think about what you want and what is fair. I did allot of giving up to be done and get out and I wish now I had not done it 3 days after booting him out. But I at least got out. Just make sure you have a clear mind and realize all that the 2 of you had. And try to also be somewhat fair if that is possible. Good luck

Alimony?

That's such an archaic notion.
You should get what you came into it with and half of what you built during the marriage.

You think someone should pay for a life insurance policy on themselves payable to you after you divorce??

That's just wrong.

What makes you think you should get any of his life insurance policy. If you have kids they should be the beneficiary. As soon as I split with my wife I made my daughter the sole beneficiary of my policy.

Let me ask you, do you have a policy on you that would be payable to him.

And people wonder why there is so much animosity towards the system. Attitudes like this.

When I got divorced I asked him nothing. I was so disgusted by him that I did not anything from him. Of course I took all the valuables that belonged to me.

Dude. You're mad, aren't you? I think you've pretty much covered it...oh wait, how about a portion of his retirement fund? Might as well punish him till he's a bald old goat.

wouldn't the policy already be made out to you since you were his spouse at the time the policy was initiated?
