I've been answering questions this morning and I saw where someone had mentioned being raped. But thats all that she said, the question was, What is your biggest injury,(or somthing like that), everyone was describing diff. things, and all she said was being raped. I'm not trying to say that anyone lies about that, but it just seems like younger girls today, say it more as an attention getter, rather than it being the truth. I just wanted to say that if you have been, i dont think you need to joke about it, its very sad and serious.
(I AM NOT TRYING TO OFFENED ANYONE ON THIS SITE, OR ANYWHERE ELSE. PLEASE DO NO FEEL THAT WAY, IM JUST CONCERNED FOR THE ONES WHO HAVE NOT BEEN.)
I mean, as I was growing up, I knew of some girls just saying it to make pple feel sorry for them, I just dont think its right.

My friend's little sister got raped and it was really destructive towards the whole family
i don't think girls really comprehend how big rape is, it not only violates you physically but also mentally and emotionally as well

Well, being a guy who has never and will most likely never be in that situation (raped) it is one of those injuries that does not heal completely. Basically, it is a very serious injury and should not be exploited or used for gain as those who are suspected of having done so. The culture of today is grossly exploiting the whole notion of sex and sexuality. Back in the day...love, peace, and all, sexuality was used to gain independence versus today where it is used commercially for il gotten gains-A la financial reward.
Oh yeah, back to the original question. I was hit (auto) head-on, (apply directly to da forehead) and could have died but only received a mangle ankle, broken arm, and two broken ribs, yada, yada, yada. About six months to recover. I am grateful to be up-right and breathing air! (LOL)

Did you ever think that perhaps she was raped? What more is she going to say? Give you the details? You knew some sick girls growing up. I've been raped, and there are more of us out there that don't talk about it than you can imagine. Give her a break. It's an open forum.

Some people are simply inclined to say things to make others pity them but this is an online world - we can't take things at face value but at the same time, what if they are indeed telling the truth?
The point is, in that girl's case, she might have been raped... she might not have.

It's impossible to know who lies and who doesn't on a forum like this. When it comes to something as serious as rape, I'd give the person the benefit of the doubt. What does it hurt to have a little compassion and not jump on them when you think they might be lying? It doesn't cost a cent.

That was me who said that. I'm almost 24. & no, I'm not an attention-seeking little girl. Being raped was very traumatic for me, & I just didn't wanna go into detail & be explicit about it.

I completely agree with you... that is a horrible thing to go through, but it's more horrible to seek attention and lie about it.
