Do you think someone should seek "counseling" before marrying again, if it's been more then 2 times???

Well, legally 2 times.... but i don't count the 1st one... only because it was the stupidest mistake i've made in my life, as a young girl (18 yrs) but if i hadn't made that mistake, i wouldn't have my beautiful son now. we were "married" technically for a year, before the divorce was finalized, but we separated after 4 months, cause i got pregnant, and he didn't want to be a daddy....

i'm now married to a wonderful man whose taken over the responsibility of "daddy" and he and "our" son have a wonderful relationship.

We've been married now for going on 5 years.

i think people should seek counseling, if they're going into a 2nd or 3rd marriage, to make sure they're not "choosing" the same type of person that they have in the past, and to resolve old problems before entering into a new relationship.

If you've been married twice and are considereing a third time then don't bother. It'll fail. The problem lies with you. Why? Well...either you have a personality that your spouse can't tolerate...sorry...'spouses'. Or...you stink at picking out people to enter into relationships with.

Perhaps instead of counseling you should evaluate both previous relationships and see what the factors were that led to the divorce in the first place. I'm sure that if you list them you'll find plenty of similarities.

So...play house if need be but don't commit. Marriage is not for you (or whomever you are referring to in your question).

I have been married once and i and my hubby are getting ready to renew our vows in november we have been thru, cancer scare, domestic violence, counseling, miscarriage my fathers death, and 2 bad car accidents, and god made us stronger and wiser for this and he has showed us to how to live our life for him and us not for others. so if u are getting married more than once seek counseling from a religious member and make sure u dont repeat what went wrong the first time...

Much thanks to Nancy M, above, who makes an excellent case for why you should seek counseling before marrying more than a second time. A counselor might help her get insight about why she keeps choosing to marry men who don't respect her so that she can avoid doing so again in the future.

I personally believe that the failure of even one marriage should be cause for serious soul-searching. Anyone who does not examine the reasons for the failure of his marriage, and his own role in that failure, is making a big mistake.

I'm still on my first marriage, but I've only been married for 21 years, so we're still waiting to see if it's going to work out.

;-)

Marriage is serious and some people do go for counseling before they marry hoping that this will help them before they marry. My opion is that people need to get to know one another befor they get married know their likes and dislikes this way they will know if this personis going the same way they are going. In marriage you become as one.

I think that you should get premarital counseling...period

It is not a penalty for making a mistake, it is just a good, smart thing to do.

I have been married 2 times and I have regretted it both times. Both have never shown respect for me.
