It is truly breathtaking...and something you really have to see to truly appreciate. Same with the Grand Canyon. Make sure you take advantage of all the different tours while there - Maid of the Mist tour boat which takes you down in front of both the American Falls and Horseshoe (Canadian) Falls. The Cave of the Winds walking tour in which you end up down in front of the Bridal Veil Falls (a little sliver next to American Falls) - you get absolutely soaked, but it's amazing to see it that close. One we didn't do because we were only there less than 24 hours was this one on the Canadian side - Behind the Falls or something like that. But there's also jet boat rides to do, they light the falls up at night (I missed it because I think we were at the Hard Rock and then straight to the casino)...just make sure you do it all...we now have to plan another trip back.

It is breathe taking the falls as two parts to it, the horseshoe falls (which of course is in the shape of a horseshoe) and the falls itself. The water rushes of the falls at a tremendous rate of speed and comes crashing down over great big boulders at the bottom. At night they turn on the laser show for the tourists and it is like nothing anyone has ever seen before!!! There are other attractions there as well: the helicopter ride over the falls, the maid of the mist (which is the boat ride below the falls), the imax theater, the museums on Clifton Hill, The Skylon Tower which over look sthe falls and has a diningroom/ restaurant at the top which revolves.
It is a great place to honeymoon!!! That 's why it is called the honeymoon capital of the world!!!
Have Fun!!!

i live in a city right close to the falls and i can still say i get excited when i spend a day down there. the Canadian side (my side) is much bigger with a lot more tourist attractions. there are tons of shops and there is also a large Ferris wheel which offers a magnificent view of the falls all lit up at night. Niagara falls is also just minutes away from Niagara-On-The-Lake, an historic town with many stores and restaurants and a park. there are also many famous wineries to check out. id definitely recommend Niagara Falls!

Niagara Falls is a classic honeymoon destination. The falls are awesome, especially if you've never seen them before. Upstate NY is a nice place to sight see. Toronto is just a short ride across the border. I was there for a long weekend a few years ago, and could have stayed much longer! So go and enjoy!
