To the majority of men the answer is watching football. Some men are not into football watching as much, these men would prefer the "girlfriend, especially intimate moments with her.
But, if you are a loving and sensitive man {?} you would consider making her a part of the game watching. IE, Share Popcorn, explain the game to her and talk about specific players and their skills or Sat's while watching the game.
Another Win Win, great way to get your girlfriend interested in Football is to take her to a little league game or attend an actual Live Professional Game [in person].
The best alternative {if she has other plans} is to Video tape the game and watch it later. This would be a win-win situation. { most women the answer would be "Spending time with your girlfriend."}
Speaking from experience; I am a female who has lived 32 years with a "Football Watching" husband.

It’s football, no need to feel guilty. You have to wait around the latter part of winter, all spring, and the beginning of summer with only flickers of football. You have the memories and remnants of last season as well and the anticipations and hopes of the coming season sitting with all this time. She should feel guilty for denying you of any fulfillment. Would she give up shopping or salon appointments? If it weren’t a financial situation, would you even ask her to? No. I know women will not answer a phone while getting their hair done, nor permit a long interruption while they’re in some mall or boutique shopping. They feel as though it should be understood that they are busy at that time.
I ask my girlfriend to watch with me, if it’s at my house or the bar (some of my buddies have the no estrogen decree), but I have some guidelines. Most of these guidelines merely involve keeping their mouth shut until they’ve gained enough knowledge about the sport without having to ask a bunch of dumb questions.

Well I have it made I guess. My girlfriend not only watches the games with me, but we also go to the games together. We both like the Redskins, but she also likes the Steelers, cause she is from Pa, but I don't hold that against her. Our teams play each other in pre-season this Saturday night. I did buy her a Steelers watch but she won't wear it, so I wear it from time to time even though I am not a Steelers fan, but when our teams play each other, she wears her Jerome Bettis jersey & I wear my Clinton Portis jersey. We always wear our jerseys on Sunday. Sunday schedule, church, bowling & then home to watch some football. Are you ready for some football?

Well depends in part on the game. Now if it is preseason, it depends on why she wants more attention then the game. I'm not saying that the game is always more important in like Regular season and playoffs, but 3 MEASLY HOURS A WEEK to watch MY TEAM compared to my GF? I mean come on give me 3 to maybe 3 1/2 hours to watch my team play and then you can have the rest of the week and weekend.

Girlfriends come & go.
Wives are a different story.
Wives are definitely more important than football.
The key is to compromise. You let her have her 'time' to do something she likes to do. Then, in turn, you'll get to do something YOU like to do (watch football).
Works great in my household.

Obviously the girlfriend is more important, but that doesn't mean you have to miss football. Last time I checked in the women's rule book it said "Let your guy do guy things every once in a while and don't bug him about it." I think this falls under that rule.

depends on the girl and how long you have been with her. I would almost always say football, but if it is a new relationship, get a DVR and record the games and put in the time with the little lady. Then if it becomes a serious relationship, she's already invested in it and then you can ignore her during fall and winter weekends.
