You forgot Gas!

Erskine noted that Hurricanes Katrina and Rita disrupted about 15 percent of the country's natural gas production, which was already tight because of growing demands from power plants and other users. Cooler weather also could increase the bills customers will pay to heat their homes this winter, because the past two winters have been warmer than normal.

Assuming a normal winter, the average Atmos Energy residential customer in North Central Texas could expect to pay approximately $690.00 during the winter heating months of October 2005 through March 2006. This estimate compares with an average cost during the last heating season of $367.00.

Thats the best that I could find. A little old but it give you an idea. roughly $120 to $150 a month and thats for gas only. With your other bills you are looking at about $250 amonth and that does not include satellite or cable which can be high or low depending on the amount of service.

Dallas is a great place to live if you enjoy the city life without astronomical living costs. Depending on where you live, a noe bedroom can range from about 600 a month to 1300. Stay away from Northeast Dallas (Forest/Abrams area), South Dallas (Pleasant Grove, Oak Cliff, Fair Park, The Cedars). Some great places to live are in Victory Park (in between Downtown and Uptown, near the American Airlines Center), Downtown Dallas, Uptown Dallas, Greenville Avenue, Preston Hollow, The Park Cities (although there are not many rentals in those areas and the houses are very expensive) and the Midtown area (near Northpark Center and Park Lane). Shopping and restaurants are some of the best attractions Dallas has to offer. Some of the best are: Northpark Center-one of the biggest and most respected malls in America. It is home to Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Nordstrom, Macy's, and Dillard's for department stores. Its boutiques include: Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and co. Cartier, Kate Spade, Burberry, Ralph Lauren, CH Carolina Hererra, Versace, Giorgio Armani, Henri Bendel (accessories only), Victoria's Secret, DeBeers, Gucci (coming soon), Lilly Pulitzer, Banana Republic, just to name a few. It has a movie theater, as well. The restaurants there are: Maggiano's Little Italy (GREAT), Luna De Noche (good Mexican food), Kona Grill (sushi), Zodiac, Mermaid Grill (both inside Neiman's) and a fantastic food court. Highland Park Village is the first outdoor shopping center in America and also is very luxurious. It has an amazing Ralph Lauren store, an exclusive bridal boutique, Williams-Sonoma, Carolina Hererra, Escada, Chanel, Anthropologie, Herry Winston, Scoop NYC, just to name a few. Its restaurants are: Mi Cocina ( phenomenal Mexican food), Patrizio's (great italian), Cafe Pacific, and a Starbucks (which is also at Northpark). The Galleria, Shops at Willow Bend and Stonebriar Center all have similar stores to the places I have mentioned but I feel that those two are the best. There is also exclusive shopping in the Uptown region and dowtown claims the Flagship Neiman Marcus (established 1907). Other GREAT Restaurants include: The French Room (downtown), The Mansion at Turtle Creek (Hotel restaurant, uptown), Campizi's Egyptian Lounge, Pappas Bros. Strakhouse, Al Berneit's but those are only several of the great restaurants to choose from. As for cost of living, it is very favorable compared to places like LA, Chicago, NYC but you get many of the same attractions, without the smog of LA, the bitter cold of Chicago, or the population density of NY. Gas is much cheaper here than any other metropolitan area, as are groceries. REnt is also cheaper too. If you live off Greenville Ave, some good places are going to be around Greenville and Mockingbird Lane (where Campisi's is), Downtown, the best place in terms of affordability and quality would probably be 1001 Ross Ave. Victory Park would be Jefferson at the North End apartments and uptown has billions of apartments to choose from. Depending on what you like, all places have things to offer but I would like to like midtown, near Northpark Center. Plenty of places near there too. I live in Jefferson at the North End now, in Victory Park. It is a great place too. The negatives of dallas would be the traffic, the heat during the summer, and the drivers. THe traffic is bad during rush hour (not really any other time though and if you live close to work and know the back roads, you shouldn't have much trouble). The heat sucks during the summer but it is not as bad as places like Phoenix or places in West Texas. The drivers, howerer, are crazy a**holes. There;s no getting around that. Just try not to drive on I-35, USHWY-75, or I-30 during rush hour and you may avoid them.
