I'm Admiral of the fleet. Will that do?

Yes, there are single male astronauts. I'm not sure if any of them are commanders or pilots but there probably are some.

There is one thing you have to be aware of, though: jealous female astronauts who are after the same man, and who will drive 100s of miles non-stop (wearing diapers) just to get even with you -- as in, assault or attempted murder.

To Dude2: LOL! ...Pilot as a 2nd-order system... I hadn't heard that one before, but it will become part of my engineering knowledge-base from now on.

This question is a prime example of how as men we do not understand why women go for certain types. In my opinion astronauts and plane captains are some of the dumbest, most arrogant, and useless people on the planet. It doesn't take much skill to pilot an aircraft or a spacecraft. In fact, a frequent joke in engineering is that we model the pilot as a second order system, i.e. we can reduce him to a basic equation.

Is it because the pilot is the protagonist in the drama? He is the person that must land and greet the people. He is the representative that has the camera focused on him? Is that why you identify with the pilot as the sexy beast in your mind? In other words, you like to have the attention, and by going with him you will get the camera time.

We just don't get it. Those of us who believe we are highly adequate but do not crave the limelight, we don't get the attraction.

They seem generally a little nerd, although of course they are not. I would switch to a commercial plane captain...!
