I do believe that there are people who perhaps have some divine connection. But I also believe they're very rare and most likely sequestered away from the public and not known. I would think it would be discovered at an early age or occurring around puberty, but it could happen at any time in a person's life. I think it would depend on that person's level of spiritual maturity, a rank not many will ever acheive.
People like Sylvia Browne and John Edwards are scammers. They're taking advantage of desperate hurting people and it makes me sick. They do what is called a "cold reading". I can't figure out if these people are deluded or if they are really just out to take people's money that would be better spent on real therapy. I used to believe in them until I really did some research and looked into it instead of just oooing and ahhing over the seeming "accuracy" of the readings.

I think most people who start into this field did so because they had some strong esp where their own family was concerned and over a long period of time and as they grew up there was that connection, they realized that they could extend that to other people, and honed their skill. However some clairvoyents are fakes and do it as a trick and for income only. I've heard all kinds of stories like it happened after people were hit by lightning, although I think that is not a good answer.

Personally, I find it often easy to speak of 'the past' ~ through looking at peoples palms ...and I've no idea just What or How I do it.
Later, when thinking about it - MY experience of it, I seem to liken it best to 'exercising a different part of my mind' - which says what it implies, though I can't get anywhere nearer a better explanation than that.
Sometimes, 'reading' is easier than others - and quite Why...! Maybe it is my self, or maybe the other person really wants to hide ....though I likely think it is the former and my inability to tune into whatever I do to get to see what I will see through my minds eye..
It's difficult to interpret an experience through and in terms of language.
Sorry, but anything lengthier by way or an explanation is likely to be l-o-n-g.
Sash.

Clairvoyance is a natural gift, indeed all of us are born with this gift to some extent, some of us believe it's premonitions. Sometimes they have to train to develop further, they can leave their bodies, this is called Astral travel. If you could do astral travel you would be able to predict the future & you would know the past too.

Why do you assume that anyone has this 'talent'? I've looked, listened and read everything I can to get an insight into things like this, and I'm convinced that some people are just very good at observing and manipulating other people.

Gift or curse? It is often sudden and seldom available when I truly would like it to be. I knew it as intuition but it continues to grow more powerful as I learn understanding. It can be very disturbing to 'know' what you can't prevent.

I can predict that without using spell-check you will continue to be a not-so-good speller.
