You're not crazy, its a beautiful name. And if the 2 main people mainly you & your partner are happy then go with it. There will probably be mean immature people (most probably kids) that will tease her about her name. But why waste a beautiful name because of their ugliness.Instill in her a strong self esteem, to bring those warm feelings of SUMMER into their DAY. Good luck & good health to you & your bubba.

She will be made fun of but you also have to remember that kids can find a way to make fun of any name. I like the name Summer. Don't know if I'd personally use it with the last name Day but it's your baby. Good luck and congrats.

She could be made fun of in school. I'm a teacher, and kids are cruel. I don't allow this type of stuff to go on in the classroom, but I can't control the kids on the playground or on the bus. Maybe Summer could be her middle name and you could call her Summer but just have a different first name. Just a suggestion. Congrats! Let us know what you decide.

I kind of agree with your mum. She has to go for a long time with the name Summer Day which kind of makes her sound like a 70's hippy kid. I knew a 4 girls called Rachel Finger, Marissa Legg, Petra Arme and Rachael Hohl and they all got teased something shocking. I don't know if you will think these are similar, but I have a daughter in primary school and I hear what the kids say everyday to people with 'normal' names so you don't want to know about the kids with stranger names.
Just my opinion though..! :)

If kids are going to make fun of another kid it won't matter what the reason is. I had some kids give my name (Laura) some awful nicknames. If you like SUMMER DAY then name your baby that because in the end it is up to you and your boyfriend....not grandma. I personally think that it very pretty and one that many people won't forget when they hear it.

Well, thank goodness the mess that is Trent'n is going in the middle where nobody will see it. Spell it Blaise, the correct, French way, and you've got a legit name on your hands. Davis I'd only use if it was a family name. Draven and Draydyn/whatever can go in the garbage can.

Well, I personally think it's awful. I think it just seems tacky, not cute. You have to think about your child. Will she be embarrassed to introduce herself as Summer Day? Maybe you should spend a day "being" Summer Day (like introducing yourself as Summer Day) and see how feels. But me, personally, I would just go with something else. Maybe keep Summer as the middle name?

My friend has a child named Summer Day and to keep the happiness she chose the middle name of Joy so it is Summer Joy Day. She does not get picked on at school and to be honest the kids all tell her they wish they had that name. I think that it is very cute!

I think that summer is a beautiful name. I don't think that she will be made fun of. Remember, this is your baby, not your mother's. Chose the name that you and your boyfriend like.

Yes, she will be made fun of by the children at school and maybe later in life.
Usually it's ok for parents to decide, but this is cruel.
