I just recently had a pap, I haven't been taking antibiotics, and im not having yeast infection sysmptoms except for the discharge. I just got over having my period. I haven't experienced this problem before. The discharge is clear, it somewhat smells. I was wondering what it may be. Could it be the change in body wash I've been using? I'm hoping it's nothing too serious since I just had my pap! Any suggestions to what it may be?

Sounds like bacterial vaginosis
Women with BV may have an abnormal vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odor. Some women report a strong fish-like odor, especially after intercourse. Discharge, if present, is usually white or gray; it can be thin. Women with BV may also have burning during urination or itching around the outside of the vagina, or both. Some women with BV report no signs or symptoms at all.
However this should show up on a pap test. As well as any STDs. You should call your docter and tell him/her what is happening.

A milky, clear, or yellowish vaginal discharge with a slighlty fishy or musty smell especially one that appears at the end of your menstrual period could be an indication that you have gardnerella (better known as bacterial vaginosis.) I just went through this myself and it happened about a month after having my last pap. UGH! it's frustrating because I had to go back to the OB/GYN for a culture a month after having my annual exam!! The only way to be sure that it's not an infection is to be checked ~ so if I were you, I'd call your Dr and make an appointment to be cultured. Garderella (or BV) is curable with the antibiotic flagyl and it's usually prescribed for 5 to 7 days orally twice a day. I wouldn't rule out a possible allergic reaction if you just changed your body wash and especially if it's highly concentrated with purfumes. A change in laundry soaps and fabric softners can also be the culprit but I would call the Dr to be 100% sure. Good luck. I hope this helps!

If your recent pap was clear then it probably isn't anything serious, so you can relax on that front. :)
You don't describe the odor. Is it foul or fishy or anything like that? If so, that's a sign to see the doctor. If you experience an unpleasant smelling vaginal discharge that is any color but clear, always call your GYN.
If on the other hand it has a mild, inoffensive odor, it's probably just a normal thing and nothing to worry about. Check it in a few days, and if it's still there and you are still concerned, call your doctor.
Also, your GYN will tell you that the best body wash to use on your vagina is simple and unscented soap. Anything else is asking for eventual problems.

it could be the body wash or it could be nothing more than a change in vaginal bacteria. which is all fine. try taking a bath. it sounds wierd but swish the water up there. it helps clear out any extra discharge that could be helping with the smell. the smell alone is caused by the heaviness of the discharge. that i know for a fact. however do not douche! it is bad and can give you an infection. so take a bath and with clear water try to wash around down there! it doesn't keep the smell gone but it takes alittle longer to come back. good luck

some discharge is ordinary and not a problem...especially if it is clear .. however, the odor I would be concerned about. It may just be the antibiotics that you are on... however, to be safe.. I would just check back with the ob/gyn to make sure all your tests came back normal. I wouldn't think it would have anything to do w/your body washes... cause they go on your body.. not in it.

It could be that your ovulating. Sometimes your body will produce a thicker, egg white-ish discharge to increase your chances of getting pregnant.
If you aren't having any itching or burning, I would think that is what it is. But if continues more then several days and has a foul odor, call your physician.

If it does not itch, burn or have a foul odor it is probably your body's natural lubricant. The vagina really does not benefit from scented products, which can cause irritation and/or ph imbalance. The same goes for synthetic fabrics in underwear.

If you have irritation around ur vagina, u could have trachiomas infection which requires prescription medication. If its fishy odour with no irritation, then its bacterial infection and u will need antibiotics

Changes in discharge are normal. I wouldnt worry about it at all. There are times when you have more discharge, and times when the pH is screwy and it smells different.
