According to Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, the flagpole had a small telescoping arm which held out the top part of the flag.

Yes, there is a metal rod on top of the pole that holds the flag in place. This is done because there is no atmosphere and thus no wind on the moon.

If the flag was left on it's own it would just slump over and never move.

Force of gravity = mass of object1 X mass of object 2 divided by Distance from centers2

This works well enough to explain your question. Actually if you want an exact measurement you have to use Einstein but Newton works well enough for most calculations.

Don’t worry, I didn’t pull this from memory; I had to look it up. Lol

You will find that it works just fine on the Moon.

Because the flag has a metal rod in the top edge that allows it to stand out and appear to be waving. When it was put on the moon they unhinged the flag so it would look this way.

Moon flage are put on pole with a horizontal bar to support flag and hence flag is actually hanging from the horizontal pole

wow that made no sence but it does not hang down because there is a bar along the top and keeps it from falling down

Probably because it was on a frame that held it out.

Isn't it a little early to be that messed up?
