Interest...If I think my contacts would like the question, I give it a star. Otherwise, I have a watchlist. If I can't answer the question right away, then I put it there. Sometimes everyone says all there is to say and I just give it a star and don't answer. I wish they were worth something.

The question: A.) exhibits ingenuity or a level of thoughtfulness heretofore unseen at Yahoo! Answers; and/or B.) I just want to remember it for later.

The question must be unique. One never asked (or rarely seen) on this site. A question with a unique perspective or thought-provoking dialogue.

I do it when it's a really good question, or when I remember to. I seem to have trouble remembering which probably means I need to spend more time in the "Alzheimer's care" section of answers.

If the question:

1. Causes me to laugh so loud, the neighbors give me the middle finger out of their window
2. Piqued my interest or was about something I have much interest in.
