First and most important step before you buy a TV see if the graphic card support TV-OUT signal and has a connector for it.

Second keep in mind that resolution is limited to TV monitors. And if you want a LCD/TFT monitor then you need to spend big bux to get quiet close to the resolution a VGA 19 Inch can produce.

Now if you want to buy a TV monitor that can use as a PC monitor too, then any monitors with 100Hz refresh rate are good enough. Search, see the models anmd decide what you want.

If you're a gamer I suggest to think to buy a VGA monitor just for your PC, and a separate TV monitor. Or better get a tv card if you want to have TV on your PC.

An input that your PC can put out.

VGA is the most common.

DVI is common on the newer video cards.

HDMI is single link DVI-D + HDCP encryption, in a different connector. Since HDCP is invoked by the system a HDCP monitor should work with a non HDCP source, So a HDMI connector should work if you have DVI-D output on your system.

Long video cables can have a worse effect on VGA signals compared to DVI-D. However, a bad VGA signal has snow and shadows, but is probably still readable. A bad DVI-D signal tends to give a blank screen.

depends on what kind of output you have on your PC, if its a standard VGA D plug then you need a standard VGA D plug input on the TV.

You can get a graphics card with S-video or DVI output for better resolution also but whatever you have or get, the PC needs that output and monitor needs that input

You want a DVI or VGA cable port. And find out what response time it has. Most tv's have 16 milli-second response time. That will have bad bleeding when you have your computer hooked up. You will want something with 8ms or less.

Ask for one with the most lines of resolution - you'll have a crisper picture.
