geforce cards are avalible from most oline retailers such as http://www.dabs.com/ and http://www.aria.co.uk/
the geforce series of cards is probally the largest selection of video cards avalible to the p.c gamer
older card include the geforce 2,3,and 4 however these are limited in their gaming capabilities but are ok for most direct x 8 games
then there are the geforce fx,6 and 7 series of cards, the fx series are quite good cards, ideal for the novice gamer to introduce them to the world of serious p.c gaming,in this series go for the fx5500 or the fx5900,all these cards are direct x 9 compatible and have pixel and ahder model 2.0
the 6 series of geforce cards include the best budget card in my opinion the geofrce 6200,these can be purchased for around £30 and have pixel and shader model 3.0,but with the low price comes a low clock speed, only 300mhz,but still a capable card, also consider the 6600gt and the 6800 cards.
the 7 series of cards is vast, with popular cards such as the geforce 7600gs,avalible in both a.g.p and pci-express interface, and the more powerful models like the 7800gs and the beast called the 7900gx2,basically two gpu,s(graphic processor units) built on to one card,so in theory you have a sli set up but only using 1 pci-express x 16 slot
then finally theres the new 8 series of cards, including the 8400,8500 and 8600 verions, both avalible in both gs and gt types, and the 8800 versions, avalible in a gts and gtx type
the fastest 8800 card is currently the geforce 8800gtx ultra, this is a beast of a card, and its that big its actually as large as a standard atx motherboard,so people should allways check their case before buying one of these
nvidia cards are reliable and the user interface is quite easy for novices
the other manufacturer of gaming cards is A.T.I ,these cards are just as popular and the main gaming cards are the radeon series
older cards are the radeon 9220,9250 and the 9550,with the later supporting the vista os
then there are the x500,x700 and x800 series, all reliable cards
then you have the x1300 range and the x1600 range both good solid cards, and the top cards include the x1950xtx and the newest hd 2900xt direct x 10 cards
the main point with ati cards is most of their cards have more pixel pipelines than the geforce cards, and faster clock speeds on the whole
finally if you ant my opinion,go for the geforce range, easy to install and set up and never let you down
any more advice let me know
good luck mate!

You won't find any better deals then Tigerdirect on new video cards. Or you could try ebay. Or if you want to buy them locally... best buy, circuit city, and even walmart has them.
