I have had that said of me, that I should smile more. As for being too serious, I don't know that is a fair description. I can be serious; I can definitely be lighthearted. Rarely, if ever, am I giddy. Often a sly, wry smile will betray the apparent seriousness to my aspect. While I like dry wit, I also enjoy campy and irreverent humor--so I cannot be too serious.

I do not take offense to the comment, nor do I see it as something over which to be offended.

Yes but do I care-not at all.

My serious attitude has kept me out of trouble and helped alot of other people.

I am not as serious as I was when I was in my early 20s but i am still smart enough to know that silliness has its place and work is not it because people wont take you seriously.

Well they tell me I'm mature cause I'm 13 years old and going to the 10th grade. So I hang out with older people.

But really they say I'm goofy, I can't even keep a boyfriend for more than 2 weeks cause I hate getting serious.

Kind of sad

On occasion - both serious and uptight. It's just a habit that's stuck to me my whole life. Make no mistake though, I'm perfectly capable of being the laughing star of a conversation.

i have had that statement run past me --- more often than not --- only because there was a certain sense of insecurity from them ( i didn't really pick up on this till later in life )
and those people always wanted to " make " a statement --- and i found that bizzare ; because they couldn't communicate . ( thepeople telling you --- you are to serious !@ lol ) good luck

Yes. Yesterday this guy was talking to me and he kept trying to make me laugh because he said I was too serious. I wasn't resisting or anything, he just wasn't funny.
