My husband and I had stopped by Taco Bell the other night to get myself something to eat. I had gotten an original quasadia or whatever and two tacos. Now at the order spot I thought I had heard her say 4.57. Well we pulled up to the window and she said 8.57. So I thought to myself that it didnt sound right but I might have miss heard her. I started thinking to myself "damn that quasadia was expensive" because I know that a regular taco is about a dollar. Well that was three days ago and I was checking my bank online and it said Taco Bell - 8.57. I just happened to find the rec. at the same time and on my rec. it says 4.57. Though I should have looked at it at the time of charge, what can I do about getting my four bucks back? Do I contact the store or do I contact the company?

Bring the receipt and a printout of your statement to the store and ask to speak to a manager. They will refund your money and probably give you some free stuff for the trouble.

Most likely the company. When you pull up to the Taco Bell drive thrus, usually the screen that shows the amount due has a number to call that says "if your receipt is different, call this number" or some nonsense. You will need to keep the receipt and the bank statements to show proof.

And you may not want to go to the Taco Bell anymore.

A similar situation arose for me at a Subway. I bank with Washington Mutual and I sent in a copy of my reciept and WaMu refunded me the overcharge. That could save you the headache of going in to Taco Bell to ask for 4 dollars. Plus, its all online.

Print a copy of the bank statement (make sure you cross out your account number) and bring that with the receipt to the restaurant where you bought the food. Ask for the manager and point out the discrepancy between the reciept and what they took out of your account. They should refund your $4 or credit your account.

I'd take a copy of your statement and receipt and go talk to a Manager...I'm sure they will refund the difference.

im sure that you dont like that the woman jipped you, but its four dollars.
you should just report her to the store and not worry about getting your money back, since they'll probably give you a credit anyway.
on the other hand, she might be struggling and thats why she charged you the extra 4 dollars, to help out with her meager paycheck, and you might get her fired if you turn her in...
