Caesar, at a very early age formed a thought, not necessarily to rule the entire world, but, to increase his middle class background to one of upper class. In the process "Money" became his objective he knew that with money came power. He married into money and status. As he began to gain both money with power he became driven to "Have it All". He was in pursuit of conquering and he was able to accomplish this very easily, he was truly an eloquent speaker.
At some point in time he just wanted to rule the Roman Empire with ruling the entire world somewhere in his thoughts. He began his quest. He did conquer and rule a very large empire.
Of course he had no idea just how big the world was.
He probably could have sold ice to the Eskimos because of his ability to conceive a though and proceed to the end.

Julius Caesar wanted to rule the intire known world under the Roman Empire.

He wanted to make as much as the world as possible part of the roman empire and rule it, however his biggest interest was in preventing civil unrest in what he did rule.
