If A-Rod Hits like he did this year in ten years he will will prolly be at 800 but honestly there arnt very many people that play after they are 40. but i would say they're arnt very many people who have a shot at it that are just starting their careers maybe take someones homeruns that they had in an year that is just coming out of their rookie season and add that up til they are 35 or so. and see how many they end up with.but if bonds ends this season with 35 homers or more and he will comeback next season he already told an ESPN reporter that. and he comes back and hits 35 more then i think he's got it. Ken Griffey Jr. has a shot but in my eye he's aging fast since he's already like 35. Maybe Rick Ankiel with his amazing comeback but highly unlikly. Ask this Question again at the end of the Season and i might be able to answer this question for u even better.

I think Bonds--if he signs as a DH next year for some American League team.

Of the Giants' 119 games, Bonds has played in 104 and hit 24 homers. At that rate by the end of the season he'll have played in about 142 games (i.e. missed 20 games) and hit 32 or 33 homers. That will give him around 766 or 767 for his career.

By becoming a DH, he won't have as much wear and tear from playing the field and will likely miss fewer games. It's very reasonable to think if he plays 150 games or so next year he could hit the remaining 33 or 34 homers he would need to reach 800.

If Bonds doesn't do it, it will be A-Rod in about 6 or 7 years (barring any injuries that make him miss a lot of time).

A-Rod Has A good shot if he stays healthy. On a personal note barry "roid" bonds is a disgrace to the game and if he is put in the Hall of Fame I want to see Pete Rose and anyone else who was banned for life get in as well.

If anyone has a shot to do it currently, it's A-Rod. I just heard that Bonds will retire at the end of the season. Coming close to the home run record will be tough. Records are made to be broken. I love baseball and would love to see someone do it.

Bonds will have a chance if he decides to play another year or two. I don't see him with the Giants next year, but possibly as a DH with an AL team. He won't have to worry about defense, and can just concentrate on hitting.

Most likely A-Rod since he's the youngest to hit 500 and won't be retiring anytime soon (hopefully)

A-rod all the way baby. Rumor have it that he might go to Boston next season but I think it is all false.
