Im following a similar logic to: promiscuous females are that way because of broken bonds with their fathers and wife-beaters had bad relationships with mom. Could pedophiles be that way because they don't have kids.
I mean, I could see why somenone would love kids. Perhaps in pedophiles that natural love of kids has been distorted.

I think it's possible for some but not all. The fact is that the etiology of pedophilia is unknown. Popular myths are that most pedophiles are homosexuals, that the majority of them were abused as children, that none of them are attracted to adults, and so on... The truth is that pedophiles come from all walks of life. They have no common socioeconomic backgrounds. And they differ in emotion and reasoning.
Many lack empathy for their victims and are in complete denial; while others express genuine remorse and the inability to understand why they continue to victimize. Some pedophiles become addicted to the adrenaline rush that they experience as a result of defying laws and societal norms; while others suffer from abandonment anxiety and volatile self worth and, therefore, become dependent upon, and bond with, their victims.... They may even refer to their victims as "best friends" and/or truly believe that they're in love with them.
There are also pedophiles who view their prey in the same manner that society views their desires. This type of pedophile projects society's views of his/her desires onto the victim by either treating the victim in a vile manner or making the victim treat him/her as such. Many pedophiles get an "ego boost" from victimizing children. The children are physically weaker, cognitively and emotionally immature, and dependent upon others. The pedophile is stronger, wiser, and can easily manipulate his/her victim. Something else that's charactistic of several pedophiles is pathological narcissism. They believe themselves to be omnipotent, omniscient, and infallible. And some suffer from various personality and mood disorders.
I could continue, but I'll simply end by saying that those who are making blanket statements about pedophiles are not educated about the subject. Very little, if anything, is true of ALL pedophiles other than the fact that they victimize children.

I don't think so. A lot of pedophiles are parents, for example.
Pedophilia is about control and exerting control over boundaries. They choose children b/c children can't hurt them, and because adults have total control over children in so many ways. Pedophiles often fear rejection, were often abused themselves, and I've read that they both see themselves in the child and can want to punish the child.
Don't really understand it except in the most abstract sense.

Maybe. But some pedophiles do have kids and that's scary. Because some are just attracted to kids period, no matter who they are.

Pedophilia is the compulsive urge to defile the innocence of youth in the hope of undoing the pain of feeling dirty, tainted and impure - which usually results from being sexually abused as a child.....
It is about reclaiming power through perversion, caused by pain.

I disagree with that theory completely. Pedophilia does not stem from something like that. I think it runs much deeper.

good question!!!
never thought of it that way but you could be right that they love children like you and i but then twist it into something sick. but by no means do i feel sorry for them they have choices and they could seek help and most likely become normal again
but until i see one that can change i will still say they should die a slow and painful death
