It used to be Freedoms.

The very idea of a free people deciding their own way and that anyone could just go get their own land, or start their own business was a very powerful vision for most of the World, even if it was due to the wholesale death of millions of Native Americans, and also hyped by early exploiters looking for cheap labor.

In spite of that the Vision outran the facts, and started to become true, particularly as the Vision was re-animated by FDR and spread to the World crushed by war. In Europe and to a lesser extent Japan, the legacy of the FDR Ideology advanced those countries greatly.

Unfortunately the FDR legacy was being undermined even then, with power and wealth squandered, and freedoms slowly eaten away American greatness is at a cusp. We can reclaim it and go on to lead a free World or we can bully it and be destroyed as all bullies are eventually

Good Morning!....Unfortunately I'm not sure that other countries or even us 'we the people' think America is any greater than the rest of the countries in the world. Maybe to some. America has definitely changed and right now as of today, not for the better, in my own opinion. Don't misunderstand me, I love my country, America is my home, born and raised here but I'm concerned on what our government has done to her in these past 8/10 years. I guess America could be considered greater than other countries on certain issues but it has changed so much in our government that America isn't what she use to be in that aspect. Our Founding Forefathers had an ideal and that was to form a 'perfect union' and a government that was 'for the people' and 'by the people'. I don't see this ideal anylonger...do you? This country was for the 'land of the free'...and for those that wanted to make America their home. This land was for all nationality, not just for a chosen few. What makes America greater?...is it our feedom? The government wants to change or revise Our Constitution that Our Founding Forefathers had created centuries ago...why? Is it for their own purpose or are they 'thinking' that it's going to benefit us "the people' in some way? I believe it's for their (our government) own purposes. Our government right now isn't 'thinking' about 'we, the people' they are thinking about their own greed and satisfactions. as for 'World Power'....well...as I see it, we still might be the 'greater' compared to some countries but if our president doesn't amend what he has caused we may not be able to continue to be in that catagory. Have a great day!

Our freedoms allowed citizens to participate in a capitalist economy, which is the most productive and efficient type of economic system.
US productivity allowed the government to institute the Marxist income tax so the politicians had a huge source of tax revenue. Our once sound monetary system, based on gold and silver, was replaced with the Federal Reserve System to let politicians borrow whatever money they couldn't raise with taxes.
Once we became a world power, socialists everywhere decided the USA should be punished for it's success. That is the driving force behind most Democrats.
Someday our freedoms will be gone, replaced with a socialist nanny state. Our power will be vastly reduced, equalized by the United Nations so all socialist countries are equally poor.
We will then have little freedom, little prosperity, and no longer a world power. Enjoy what you have now. Thank a Democrat for the rising socialist nanny state.

It used to be our freedom, but now it's a power thing. The "power" will not last much longer, if we don't retain our rights provided to us by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Right.

We must take a stand soon if this great nation is going to survive.

Neither.

The single most important aspect of the US that has allowed it to become the greatest nation in history in just over 200 years is the separation of church and state coupled with religious freedom.

Throughout history up to today, you can see examples of wrecked regimes because they could not or would not keep clerics out of government.

Religious nations and nations that have gone out of their way to stifle religion, have always been the most war like and usually don't stand the test of time.

The freedoms. I mean, had the world been free of the threat of wars of aggression, it would have loved and respected the US more then it does now.

Neither. The threat of the Military and the equally dangerous threat of economic meltdown the US could inflict on a nation who does`nt tow the line. Freedoms are an illusion.

It was our Freedoms that made us a great nation, of the people.

Now, as our freedoms diminish, it is our military power that keeps us mighty.

Our constitution, once its integrity is restored, will once again be the beacon to the world.

What is a world power? The power to destroy?

If it is the power to occupy resistant nation states, the USA or any other modern nation is powerless.

Our freedoms. But our power is needed to protect those freedoms.
