Woah! you are Uyghur, that's very interesting! I know that the Uyghur are an ethnic minority in China, and make traditional medicines. Were you born in China?

I am interested in history but have hardly ever heard of 'em. I think I recognise the name as coming from Central Asia somewhere but I didn't know whether they still existed or not.
If I don't get to read about 'em here I'll check 'em out in Wikkipedia. Are you proud of being Uyghur ..? Why ..?
Why should you be proud of being Uyghur .. or Swedish .. or Turkish .. It had nothing to do with you where you were born.
And how can you love a people but not love other people .. ?

The Uyghur (also spelled Uighur; Uyghur: ئۇيغۇر; Simplified Chinese: 维吾尔; Traditional Chinese: 維吾爾; Pinyin: Wéiwú'ěr) are a Turkic people of Central Asia. Today Uyghurs live primarily in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region (also known by its controversial name Eastern Turkistan or Uyghurstan). There are also existing Uyghur communities in Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Germany and Turkey and a smaller one in Taoyuan County of Hunan province in South-central China.[2]
There are small but very active Uyghur communities in the United States, mainly in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Washington, DC areas. Uyghur neighbourhoods can also be found in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai,[3] as well as in Toronto and Vancouver in Canada.
I didn't know your people at all until you asked; now I know because I looked it up.
I was born ignorant, that doesn't mean I have to die that way. You don't have to choose this as best answer but don't tell me it is wrong to make an effort to fill a gap in my own awareness -- that's why I spend time at this site!!!

Problems are mounting as more and more cultures are thrown in together. The Uyghur people are having difficulties and the world community has to be involved in solving the ills of the world or suffer the consequences of failing to do so, like terrorism. We will have to blame ourselves for not seeing the handwriting on the wall. We have the technologies now to handle the integration of peoples together, the mind and attitude changes we all will have to make and how to bring the world to a higher sanity level. Governments are not doing it so it seems ordinary citizen will have to band together to deal with world situations as the Israelis and the Palestinians are doing in the joining of the moderate voices in the OneVoiceMovement (see on youtube) in the Mideast. I recommend we first start with learning about the mind shift occurring on sites like shiftreport.org and with some of the free ebooks on trans4mind.com

Shanghai is a distinguished global metropolis drawing more and more interest from throughout the earth; therefore see what that city is offering with hotelbye . Shanghai is a favorite travel location for visitors. In Shanghai you will see the striking Yu Garden (Yù Yuán), also known as the Garden of Happiness. This Garden addresses an area in excess of 20,000 square yards and contains an external and an internal garden. The oldest part could be the Outer Garden with further changes being manufactured in the 18th century when Sansui Tang, the park's principal hall, was added. The newer and much smaller Inner Garden times from 1709 and involves functions common of a traditional Chinese writer's Garden: appealing small pavilions, decorative rocks, and little mountain ranges, splitting walls and small ponds, and even a highly decorated theatrical stage.

Not enough, I must admit. I have read that the ones living in China are still oppressed.
It is a very interesting Turkic people that has a very high culture. I will put some of their writers on my reading list.
Thanks for reminding me.
Have a nice day.
