off the old cable the electric start has no effect i checked the fuses witch were fine i also checked the fuse terminals with a voltage tester for checking for breaks in cables 5 out of the 6 were positive 1 was not could this be the fault ?

fuse box has 3 fuse 1=7amp tail light
1=7amp head light
1= 15 amp main this is the one to check a red wire runs from batt or solonoid to fuse box the other side of this goes to ignition red wire

Am i reading this right but anyway,i take it you had problems electrically and still the electric start doesnt work There is a possability that the engine earth is using the throttle cable as a new route but the cable isnt heavy enough to take it On cars it sometimes uses the choke cable [ older ones ] Hope this helps Stay lucky

Check the starter motor - jump a battery right up to it, to see if it works.
Check the starter solenoid - jump power to one terminal and ground the other (not the main terminals battery (+) & starter motor).
Check for power going into the switch (that powers the start button).
Press the button and check for power coming out (at the switch connector and at the solenoid).
Make sure one of the connectors goes to ground at the solenoid.
Does the neutral light come on - if not, it won't start. Pull in the clutch lever.
Stop asking the same question!
